Just out of interest, since you say it's so easy and all, have you cleared Omega Savage?Stormblood is worth one month of playing. Since you can clear savage so quickly now, it actually means that you could do everything in a month. Then after that, it's just repetitive farming for tomes/gears weekly doing the same thing over and over again. Starting next week, there will not be any significant new content until 4.1 in two months. So for $40 + $15, I've got to enjoy one month of playing Stormblood. Not bad I supposed. It's just like playing a new game. I'm going to stop for 2 months until 4.1 comes out, then resub for another month and so on and so forth.
It is simply my "norm" to go through stages of intense interest in a game followed by weeks (or months) of almost complete disinterest...meh.
It is just a game, never forget that, one should never spend the majority of their waking life in any game imo.
And op, if (for whatever reason) it isn't enjoyable for now then a break is logical and common sense.
This happens with every mmo I play, it is both the result of my personality/priorities and also due to aspects of each game that to me , are still flawed and become highly annoying
I say take a break.
I have never abandoned a game because I needed some time away from it. (only poor developer decisions/ignoring player suggestions drive me away permanently)
♥ MORE HIGH HEELS + INSTANCED HOUSING! ♥!
Hi, all I didn't expect this many replies! Thanks all for sharing. I will see you when I get back! I set a Real life goal instead of collecting tomestones! (getting a certificate I always wanted)
I would say take a break till they release more content.
This was perfectly said, /clap "Reset Gear" Animas , week after week getting 1 piece of gear, hours grinding savage for a new ilvl and all of it rendered useless because a patch just dropped and back doing it all over again and they put a new coat of paint on the same gear and slapped a new ilvl on it calling it new content. This game has no reply value. Once the patches stop coming there won't be any real reason to play this anymore. Since all old content gets written over by new content it's like we never moved. The new stuff gets beaten So quick that people are forced to wait and be bored. There is no long term goal because we start over each patch. So there isn't any value to anything you do. There's nothing that shows how much effort you put in the game because everything gets over written and everyone starts over. The value in hard work is gone and that shiny piece of weapon you worked hard for can be thrown into the trash.
So go play something else. Why is this a topic? Lmao. Ill never understand people who cant fathom that running the same content over and over can get bland. And im guessing you rush to cap the day an expansion comes out, run the 2 new dungeons over and over and then get bored.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
I can see what you mean. I didn't even rush through the content and I feel like I don't have much more to do until creation reset. I love the game and it is fun but unlike world of warcraft it is lacking in end game content. I am sure once we get a little deeper into the expansion the spark will be ignited again but until then just take it easy and wait until new patches.
