Hmm losing will to play... any tips?

I have been playing ffxiv since 1.0 and I am rapidly losing interest to play this game.

Doing Daily feels like doing homework after work. Ex trial is fun until you clear it and the hype doesn't last very long. I haven't even tried savage but most of other contents are becoming pretty repetitive. I am spending about 2-3 hours everyday on this game but I think I could have more healthier life style if I spend less time on this game...

Anyone else had this problem and care to share thought?

Running things to cap is never a good way to stay in the game. Just take a break from the game, there are a lot of good games out there.

Any time I get it I just take a little break. Earlier this year I took a two month break, nothing is wrong with doing so~

    1. take a break and see if you want to come back or move on. there's nothing wrong with that.
    2. that is absolutely true and maybe that's what you need to do if you feel this game is barring you from a healthier life style.

....maybe that's what I will do too...

I've had this problem since the beginning of 2.0.
Game is a themepark. You get new rides, you can only ride them so much before
you get bored and lose interests. Sadly, FFXIV has the same rides, under different coats of paint
so I reach more boredom within a few weeks after a major patch. (Not downing the game by the way.
It's just how the pattern of this game since the beginning.) Right now I am leveling jobs
as SB dungeons are more fun, getting to 70 is where my fun stops sadly...

Take a break is all we can say.

This game unfortunately is not designed to be played hard or even mid core for extended periods of time.

I had a guild of 65 ppl about 45 of them quit due the issues you are having, was in the first part of heavensward, game is just not designed for ppl playing 30+hrs a week.

Most the people in my guild now both those who stayed from before and the new ppl have taken breaks or pulled back to 2-3 days a week once savage content is on farm and play other games. FFXIV despite the amount of stuff to do when you look at the whole picture as a newer player, has a massive lack of content problem at current endgame. There has yet to have a patch since 2.0 with truly enough "Relevant Progression" content at endgame for ppl to play this game as a full time mmo. It is one of the main weaknesses of this game and one of the main issues with a casual designed linear themepark in general.

I would suggest trying another game for a bit, if that is not possible for what ever reason I would drop your playtime down to 10hrs a week and play other non-mmo games in between for awhile and then pickup FFXIV game time once the major patches hit and you work to beat content. Doing this will help with burnout and still keep you caught up basically. How FFXIV is designed to be played, love it or hate it.

Instead of suggesting to take a break, which isn't bad to do, we all been there but change your daily chores. It might sound funny, but instead of let's say doing roulette's/leveling alts/other jobs, try something new. For example, go join some party finders or some raid content, or relax and try some gathering/crafting. It might not sound like fun, and in most cases it isn't but after you've done it for a week lets say, switch back to your old routine. All the sudden you might actually start enjoying it again, and while that's still temporary, at least it won't burn you out as much.

I noticed when taking a 6+ month break, that sure you have lots of content to run when you return, however the pressure is much higher because now you need to play the stupid catch up game, and some content will be "old" to that time, making it either unavailable since people don't want to run it anymore, or expecting you to be very good at it. Meaning you will have to put lots of research into that etc, instead of right now still falling in the grace period and could say, I am new/blind run etc. Taking a break should be your last option in my opinion.

This game has no reply value. Once the patches stop coming there won't be any real reason to play this anymore. Since all old content gets written over by new content it's like we never moved. The new stuff gets beaten So quick that people are forced to wait and be bored. There is no long term goal because we start over each patch. So there isn't any value to anything you do. There's nothing that shows how much effort you put in the game because everything gets over written and everyone starts over. The value in hard work is gone and that shiny piece of weapon you worked hard for can be thrown into the trash.

Wait wait wait, just to get it: Are you asking us for tips to avoid to Change your life into a better and healthier one?

Well in that case my friend: Potato Chips and chocolate! Especially those potato Chips for sure! Will help to kill any healthy ambition you ever had.

Dude, just take a break from the game. I do it all the time. Gaming is an activity made for Relaxing. If you don't have that relaxing effect anymore it's just a huge waste of time and you could, as you named it, use the time better.

When you reach that point and it's not as fun anymore, taking a break from the game until the next patch will usually do it.
Of course it also depends, for me I honestly feel the same way but it's the friends that I'll have around that make it somewhat more entertaining, even if it's just coming on to goof off with them.
