Hmm losing will to play... any tips?

I can understand the OP because even though the new expansion is not that old, I already feel a bit bored at the content. I still like the game (otherwise I would just stop playing completely) but there is simply no new endgame content that I can or want to do. (Raids are not something for me, Palace solo is nearly impossible right now thanks to DC, and I dont want to farm the two primals endlessly for a chance at the wolf) I am not sure why we could not at least get one real new long lasting content in 4.0. I mean I did take my time with the story but that is still over quite fast.

But I have the problem, that I simply cant take a true break because I would lose my ingame house thanks to that and if I continue to pay money for this game then I dont want to just log in once a month to keep the house.

So I do still play it (but not that much like before) and use the time to gather and craft while catching up on some lets plays.

If you can do break without losing anything ingame I would say that its probably better to do so. Not only is better for your enjoyment but it might show SE that they need more diverse content even in the release of the expansion.

Taking a break is always an option.
Or perhaps instead of playing daily, just play one or two days per week - that way you won't fall behind the way you would if you took a total break.

Games are meant to be fun. If you play a lot despite not enjoying it, then you should not play so much

Yoshida admitted in a documentary that the game is designed such that you do not need to play every day in order to keep up. It is designed such that people can put the game down to go play other games and spend time with family. That it is fine if one unsubs and then waits till a content patch.

I feel ya OP. This game is really boring in the beginning of expansions. There is not much to do besides being a raider or running dungeons. You can level crafters and other jobs, but even that gets boring. In the end this game is all about getting glamour armor. I say take a break until the next patch. The new 24 will be out and relic woes. At least there will be a little more to do during that time.

I felt like this before Heavensward and took some time off. It really helped. Also, helping new people get started is something I find really fun. I'd be bored to death if I didn't have my friends and my fc "kids" to take care of.

I feel your pain OP. Plenty of fluffy candy in the game, but no meat... Sad thing is they have a decent stopgap fix readily available for this issue, but they refuse to use it. Just uncap tomestones (or cap per job) and make lockouts seperate per job. As it stands you can't even play alts as they will always be behind and cannot participate in what content we have to play them in.

I get what your sayin tho I honestly feel like if you didnt play every job in the game I could totally see how people would get bored. I feel like the beginning of an expansion is the most boring time in the game , as I was gearin jobs for storm blood and even took a whole month to do the sb msq . Many people where doing the same gettin their 270 gear right up to sb, and within a week they where grinding the new 310 stuff. But I also blame this on 75 percent of the game being dead, with unsync now open to hw. But Ill never leave the game because I truely love my charcter more so than any other game Ive played, but if it wasnt for that , Id prob have a different outlook

Take a break, really.

This is a game, and by definition not something you should force yourself to do.

The only way to play a game wrong is by not having fun with it.

Try new games/hobbies/simply stop for a month or two and then come back if you feel like it - this is not a job or something you are paid to do (rather it is the opposite), so don't see it as an obligation :P

Not sure this game with all the changes is getting boring fast. Items that said was going to add won't be for months still once finish the story gets boring fast. Yoshi needs to retire and pass the torch to new person that knows what gamers want and listens to them on forums.
