I have been working on Monk, which was my main through ARR and HW. As a class, monk just does not feel satisfying to play anymore. I used to love the class, and it was the only one that I cared to invest any time on, but now I can't enjoy playing on it.

The biggest reason monk feels so bad is the riddle of fire slow. The slow almost completely negates greased lightning's speed boost that is the core of monk's kit. For reference, my base GCD with no GL is 2.4s. with RoF and GL3 my GCD is 2.34. This makes you feel so sluggish in the middle of the fight and just makes you feel like you don't have any stacks on. Remove the slow, and monk will at least be tolerable to play again.

The other issue I have with monk is that it just feels too simplistic now. Removing Touch of Death and Fracture made this worse, and slowing it down just makes it painful. For comparison, Samurai has a very well designed kit and makes good use of the sen gauge.

I'm not a huge fan of the new 50% chance for a chakra on crit, but I don't hate it. I like that SE is trying to give chakra through the fight to allow us to use Forbidden Chakra more than once per major phase, it just feels too unreliable. I have had plenty of times where I would use internal release and not get any free chakra.

Monk also got quite a few useless and overly niche abilities. Like Earth Tackle, which is a gap closer that pushes your target out of range.
