    Hey everyone! IT WORKED!

    ...kinda. Sorta.

    Get a load of this: THIS.

    They acknowledged the price increase (finally), and acknowledged how much of a screw-up the communication on the issue was. They are not changing the prices back permanently, but they are:

    1 - Changing them back for 69 days (nice), starting on august 16th, after which they will revert to the increased prices. This effectively gives us 60 days notice, plus a chance to top off our subs to 180 days if we so desire.

    2 - Will be giving us 30 days, free of charge.

    While this is not exactly the change we were championing for in this thread, as we still believe that it would be beneficial to both the players and SE to implement regional pricing in order to make the game more affordable and populated (and not just to BR and RU markets, mind you), this is, nonetheless, an acknowledgement in SE's part of the poor handling of this change, plus reparations for the grief caused by said change.

    Now, if this is enough or not, that will be down to each and every indiviaual player. But at least SE has taken a step back and took the necessary measures so that us, BR and EU players, will no longer feel as much wronged as before. Mind you, had SE taken these measures at the moment these changes were put in effect in the first place, this whole thing would not have blown up in their faces nearly as much as it did. But I digress.

    Fact is, considering this is a monolithic profit-driven japanese company (i.e., not very much flexible, if at all), this is probably the best we could have hoped for. And I would like to believe we played a part in enacting this change, my fellow Eorzeans. So, I salute you all, and I thank you for your engagement on this matter.

    Wow... I'm shocked, and pleasantly so. This is so much more than I would have ever expected from SE. While I certainly wouldn't have complained if they had decided to keep regional pricing in some form, going as far as they are to make up for things is way, way more than I had thought was possible. In all honesty, I would have been satisfied with the first paragraph or two of that announcement, acknowledging our position and apologizing for how they handled things.

    Way to restore my faith in your CS department, SE. Good job.

    And a big thank you to Holygriever, Seturian, Doppelshifter, and all the other players who organized the appeal and the ones who banded together to support it and bring this to SE's attention.

    For me actually it meant nothing at all. At least I finally know where to stand for, which is not paying for the price asked. I wish I could know this before Stormblood, I could have invested my money in somewhere else. I prefer pretty much buy another Steam game than pay this sub. I've to say I'm still pissed off, and probably not going to recommend the game nor buy any more products from SE in following years. All I had to say for the SE answer is, thanks for nothing.

    As of August 16th prices will be reverted back to the old prices for a period of 2 months. That is more than a fair warning and also very generous of SE.

    It appears they are even going to give you 30 days free for those that had to pay the increased price. SE has shown they care about their customers.

    Although this was not the best possible scenario I still take my hat off for SE.

    They didn't need to do all that they did, but this was honestly the best way to keep a balance with their interest and a bit of "Sorry, our bad" for us.

    I wasn't expecting anything anymore, but this leaves me pleased enough as it is.

    I'm gobsmacked. I wasn't expecting much of anything to come from SE about this. Sure, I still believe regional pricing would be the way to go (for the purposes of equity not equality), but in light of the situation, temporarily reverting the prices to give people chance to prepare, AND to give the affected users 30 days free gametime. I just... wow. I'm absolutely blown away. Sure, I'm not affected by this, but you have to hand it to SE, that was well done.

    Now, since equality is what they're after... how about bringing us British users in line with everyone else (you know, to keep in consistency with your post SE)?

    As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
