I agree with your sentiment, but not your insults. I like civil discussion, and I hate this thread devolving into flaming and attacking. As someone who agrees with the thread, please respect that.

They are totally different things, I want parsers, but even I can acknowledge the viewpoint that someone may abuse the information to harass potentially, how will super savage content existing directly cause harassment?

I'd say for this, lock it to minimum item level, no undersized parties (or unsyncing), etc. And, if at any point you make even the tiniest mistake, the wipe happens instantly. Basically, every mechanic or lack of DPS = instant wipe. And it should be set so high that even the top 1% will take say 9 months to beat it. That to me would be super savage. I would also make the punishment to failure extend beyond the duty too, so say maybe charge 50k gil per person per attempt or something? Would make for a nice gil sink too.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

Great idea!!. I also think as soon as the first guide is publisher it stop giving mounts and titles. I mean the group that did it first are truly the only ones deserving of the fluff.

    Thanks for the laugh, OP

It'd be pretty cool if world/server first got shinier titles or something subtly better than a normal clear reward. Great idea!

I find it fascinating that anytime very hard content is advertised, there is a crowd that gets huffy that the devs made something nice for a certain set of players.

The fact that they now admit raiding is not great in FFXIV and are adding a new tier instead of catering to the lowest common denominator is a bit refreshing.

I've long since accepted the fact that there will always be content that will not appeal to me personally, and SE has never hyper focussed on one player type except the casual.

The 1% mindset is what killed wow in legion. It just isn't fun not being able to have access to content and mindlessly grinding out easy stuff. yes you can argue "git gud" but 90% of the players don't have 15 hours a week to face smash into bosses.

Isn't that why raid is more accessible this expansion? The progression curve of content thus far seems a lot smoother than 3.0 - 3.1

I can't speak for WoW, and 1% mindset (without any midcore content to suppliment it) may be what is killing WoW, but what will kill XIV is the lack of longevity or any kind of meaning in the content, and the constant nerfs destroying everything that players who participated in those pieces of content cared about.

I can appreciate super hard content that is iLvL synced, since it's a bragging rights fight why not keep it hard. Fully support!

I fully support what the OP is saying. In fact, I'd say take it a step further and do one set of rewards for a set amount of time--eg. when the next super savage comes out--and then take those out and put in an alternately colored / designed version of things so that people will know who cleared when. Alternately, they could remove the old SS as if it's obsolete when the new one is released if making reskins is too much of a pain.

I'm a midcore player who has disabilities and will likely never touch SS in a zillion years. But I agree with Cassandra: if I have the right to have the main story content be accessible, have DoL / DoH, etc. why on earth shouldn't someone who plays better than me for any number of reasons be granted an opportunity to test their skills and--more importantly with regard to this thread--have those skills acknowledged in a meaningful and lasting way?

The real savage / endgame in this mmo is housing, if we're being blunt. Because it's limited and that limitation gives the things it offers value. That's an oversight and a tragedy, but it's the truth. We need to rebalance that, and while this wouldn't fix housing, it would give people with time, passion and dedication a solid and meaningful goal to strive for.

From what has been mentioned, it's supposed to take inspiration from Diadem, but not be another Diadem? Yoshida has been incredibly vague. I suspect they wanted to do an upscale Diadem of some sort but the immense dislike of both iterations probably changed their plans. At this point, all we know is it'll be some massive zone separate from current content and it'll be where the relic takes place.
