The "top 1%"
Does not sound elitist at all.
Why make content for the major minority of the game?

They already do though, no?
When each raid tier was the current hardest content in-game, there was only a very small percentage of people that would actually clear the final fight in a given tier.
Moreover, Savage Coil (while it likely didn't require a lot of dev time), was implemented to be a challenge to that top echelon of raiders (again, when the content was current).
Further, SE has confirmed that there is going to be a "Super Savage" fight for those who have cleared Omega V4S. I don't see what is wrong with such things existing. It is there for those who want the challenge, and can be ignored by everyone else.

I support this. As someone who earned a couple SCOB titles before unsyncing, it felt kind of bad to go back through and stomp them later, completely dosregarding mechanics. They should only give titles or rewards when content is synced, if it's supposed to be that challenging. SCOB savage didn't even have glamour. I could understand why people would be upset if the replica high Allagan gear was gated behind this and you had to do it synced, but even then, the fights can be cleared through effort and commitment, much like anything in this game.

I don't really see the point of this. 8 expansions down the line, who is going to care about this content? All content eventually is overgeared and made easier. Those who tackle it when it's current and shiny get to show off and then those things become available to everyone else when they're no longer relevant. That's just what happens in this game.

And content longevity in all aspects of the game have long been one of the most complained about design aspects of the game. MMOs are maliable, just because content has come outdated quickly in the past, doesn't mean it has to be. I would still run SCOB (savage) in my downtime for the rewards if they meant anything anymore (which they don't because of unsync, not because it is old).
This is exactly my thought process, thanks for being a first hand example.I support this. As someone who earned a couple SCOB titles before unsyncing, it felt kind of bad to go back through and stomp them later, completely disregarding mechanics. They should only give titles or rewards when content is synced, if it's supposed to be that challenging.
I gotta say My faith has been restored in this commnuty and I really hope the devs listen to this threat and makes Super Savage a fight that will always last even 5+ expansion down the line and still be "that super hard fight" and not be a SCoB Savage joke that it's today.
