It still has potential to be something great but needs a little work. I have no problem admitting I am a fan of the FF series and am very patient because of it. It doesn't bother me how long it will take to fix it.
Sometimes it still amazes me how much detail went into the gear, city layouts, and the characters' facial expressions.

Been playing since Beta, and really? i don't see why people and critics hate it so much. I know it's missing a lot of content. But for right now all i want is a good amount of quests, and a large market. Both are in the game, and i like how it limits you a bit, makes it so i can't get bored fast, which happened in a lot of other MMO's! Great game so far, and the gfx are very well done for the most part.
It's getting better thats for sure, enough reason for me to continue until i get too old.
I used to be Noomy...then i took shiva's Hail Storm to my knee...

I <3 it as it is.
uhmm i think its ok but i just want to chat and fight at the same time without getting killed.Like when i yell for help.

I feel it needs more stuff. And the ability to chat while synthing. This is not a flaw of a bad game, but a bad launch, which is why SE is reserving the date for ps3 release. Folks in NA loved the launch of FFXI, not knowing that the game was already out in Japan for 2 years, this is what a new mmo looks like, and the fact that other MMOs run into the same lack of content at launch is not new.
I know, " but Kallera, they REALLY lack content!"
Well, now they know about it, and are working on the issue, SE's put its money into this, I have faith it won't let it meltdown. If it does, they lose on years, reputation of Final Fantasy, and money.
And hey, I've spent money on worse games (coughvf5cough)

I'm feeling pretty much the same about XIV as I already feel about XI. I can't think of a single mmo with the same kind of aesthetic. Animations are accurate & have a distinctly restrictive quality which creates not only an awareness of ones own puppeteer responsibilities, but kindly repulses mine eyeballs outwardly. The environments are just beautiful. XIV is the first game I have played that can hold a candle to the environmental wonderland that was laid out in XI. I think they are the two best looking mmos on the market, purely based on the aesthetic. The way the worlds are designed. I mean, the terrain and the restriction that the game places on all the players, it works to the mmos advantage. getting funneled around literally forces us to bump into eachother. It isn't just wide open spaces, its dangerous narrow corridors through outdoor settings. You have to watch your back, because dying means you just lost like 30 minutes of you life but its okay because I enjoy the scenery so much. The way you don't just click and collect collectable resources, the added layer of timed input monotony is all right, at least it isn't mindless button presses. There is a relaxing quality to these games. I have every confidence.
Glad to get everyones opinions on it so far, I do believe they will turn FFXIV around and make it into something really great and that is the reason that I keep playing.

It's gotten better and I like it but I hope for more. It sure doesn't have the same feel as 11 which at least story wise and lore wise I thought was way better. The story for this one seemed to lack luster but I know they aren't done with it.
I chose grid which was probably a poor choice on my behalf since it deals with some sort of rarely seen entities that make the forest dangerous. Considering I'm not too religious and have difficulty believing in things like that, it made the story feel like I was in a city of cultists. So, a bit biased on that one. I wont talk about the rest of the story but it was kind of hard to really follow of make sense of or really like it....It's decent but I'm kind of picky....
Graphics = <3
I actually like the battle system and the fatigue system isn't too bad (you CAN grind through it).
Customization is awesome, though I wish there were more tattoos and hair styles for miqo'te.
Expectations? About what I thought initially. I didn't expect it to be like 11, it shouldn't its a new game. Didn't expect to initially love it. I feel about the same as I do now so it lived up to my expectations.
Making money, is easy. The best way to get rid of Gil sellers are to make it unnecessary to even need to purchase from them. I don't mind money being easily obtainable.
The only thing keeping me on game is 1. Archer and 2. My link shell. This game would not be as fun as it is without my link shell. Without those, leveling would be a pain, there wouldn't be much motivation to level since there aren't things like air ship passes or chocobo stuff.
End game is....well...it's there. It does provide something to do and I do have fun with it but... NM wise there is the hat which is nice for DDs but unless your lancer gladiator and I think Marauder there aren't any end game weapons for ya (yes I know there is the crab bow) so once you get the hat your done. End game leves are nice, I just wish that there was a 100% drop rate on getting something valuable since those 400 faction points aren't easy to farm, or at least a decrease in the amount needed. Otherwise, end game is fun. It does need more but for now its nice.
