Honesty Time - How do you feel about FFXIV?

i agree ken but the enjoyment factor is short and is only held on by hope of the future. it feels like an investment more then a game, just sitting on it just knowing it will rise again. in between this game and the other there was nothing for me to play that gave me a feel that ffxi gave me.

The Game is OK, but for me its not a Final Fantasy game that im use to and that is mostly why I dont have fun playing it. I need a perpose or story to go with the game and have a goal to reach other then leveling. Something that drives me to go explore the world and see things.

I just feel that Final Fantasy should stick to single player games ever since FF11.

agreed i kick my ls head all the time. love when the head guy gets feisty, but is only 3 ft tall. we even have a lala that made an alt and names it Pigskin. been fun punting and tossing him around.

In honesty, I see it as a Beta. An early Beta at that. Don't take that as a disrespect fro the game or "hating". I genuinely enjoy playing and can see that it has potential. But this as a release title is absurd. So personal opinion is at least 1 yr from completion and P2P worthy/ps3 release. But I do have hope and WILL keep playing and posting suggestions/problems/feedback on these forums in the hope it does work out.

I love FF14, but I really hope they add a better party system and search system to get sp. I really want to see mog houses or company houses but it will come eventually. Unlike most, I would really love to see PVP/PKing on some degree. That might be what companies are for. Like an LS but you can go to war with other companies and maybe participate in some type of server timed war games based on a points system with rewards. At very least, having a 1v1 duel option would be nice.

100% disclosure as that seems to be the thing to say when you got something to say no one wants to hear.... I enjoy the game... that is till about the time where i need to get new gear. There is NO available gear for low levels, and if you tell me about the retainer crap i shall slap thee!!! On top of that combat is real slow and almost too machine like. The effects from special attacks or spells are almost laughable every time they manifest. I feel a lack of belonging to the game because i have no residence. People still are jerks and never answer questions nor ever want to group.

As for the good about the game that i can think off the top of my head would be, the Amazing scenery. The main story lines are really fun and inciting to want to continue, but seem to lose their steam after a while. Then again that could be from not being able to continue leveling, because i can't find any gear.... The cities are really well designed. Oh and the ITS OPEN WORLD!!

Thats all i can think off the top of my head. I really enjoy the Final Fantasy fanchize, but refuse to pay another dime or dedicated any time to this game until they gets the previous producer's terrible (my opinion) ideas out of the game. As someone who really enjoyed FFXI this game came to a great disappointment back when it was released, but keep hope as im excited to see if the FFXI crew can bring FFXIV back to life! Personally I think the current team for this game should have been the original team all along... but you live and learn!

Its not perfect has a long way to go , but if you enjoy it for what it is you will get something out of the game.
Also helps that its not overloaded with content because unlike some people i dont want spend all my time on one game i like try out many different video games and plus my real life is busy as well.
My biggest wish for game is more lore and a feel that game is alive atm it does not feel very alive or have its identity yet , like in ff11 san d'oria you knew it be elven princes and old kings and knights , ff14 needs more of this.
