Honesty Time - How do you feel about FFXIV?

There are so many planned changes that this will will pretty much be a whole new game when all if said and done. So, I think it's irrelevant to share how we feel about the game overall when the game is being restructured based on how we feel. If that makes any sense?

They already know how the community feels and this is the reason for a new development team and a new Final Fantasy XIV. Should this be the "Beat a dead horse and tell us multiple times how you feel about FFXIV" thread? This was the catalyst of this new direction. Or did you miss that part entirely?

Sorry if I sound agitated. This just looks like a thread that was inspired by boredom.

Well, with the game down atm, it is inspired by boredom... If people can't play they need to chat about it and get a fix, even if it's only talking about it lol.

I agree and disagree with you. Yes, there are changes coming, we need to be patient, and we need to give it a rest. At the same time, we sometimes need to vent. I very rarely do, but every so often, even the most patient players feel the need to express their frustrations from time to time. That's what this thread is about. And it seems to be staying respectful and productive for the most part... So what harm does it do? Not many here seems to be saying anything terribly negative, just venting a bit. These forums aren't flooded with these types of posts, so a few doesn't hurt. If it bothers you so much, don't bump it by posting here. Or are you like everyone else here and need to vent a little bit too??

if u'r talking bout me and what i posted, the post asks our feelings and i gave them. and whether the game is going in a different direction or not, i liked the very first direction it was going. i don't like the one it's fully going toward now. now it's turning into every game out there, now its falling into the hands of the majority(leechers,duel boxers,pl'ers,afk'ers, zombie grinders that to be half afk,and off course the rmt adn the bots)

so far like the post asks, it has been a letdown, and no offense u can expect what u want from devs, i expect more. at the very least something. i don't care if it's free, its only free cause we all took off or we complained to high heaven bout it. they had the audacity to sell us a 70dollar copy of the game already, they had the audacity to try to start charging us. hell i have 120bucks in crystal that i can't return to game stop.

i have an account on the most empty server in the game, and i can't just run off and do all over what i did on it just to get on a server with a decent population. so i just shit out of luck. and nothing will be fixed because oh hey here's a free game till then. big woop. anything most of us are waiting for won't be fixed till after we start getting charged either way.

i enjoy myself a few hours a day...maybe. i enjoy the nm runs and leve links though i don't like leves the party play gets me threw the day, ..then what? nothing. i finally have quests after 6months of the "launch" this is how much they think we'd pay them that they would do this. personally i wouldn't be surprised u are a worker from them trolling people telling the truth. if u don't like my attitude toward it then fix the problem and avoid the problems not try to write out the wrong with bs excuses.

I enjoy this game far more than any other game I tried in years.
Yes, it needs correcting here and there, but the amazing graphics, the well-animated enemies, and the possibility to play with other players make it fantastic. I'm pretty new to the game, and I don't even dream about reaching lvl. 50, because I don't have that much time, so the most enjoyable part for me are quests, and I'm very happy to see that the developers are improving the game in this area. It's also a good point that Yoshida keeps posting letters on the homepage.

lol I'm guessing you were in the "open" beta (beta 2). I just so happen to have been in the "closed" beta (beta 1). Nice chat.

I was in the Alpha, only allowed to play for a couple hours 2/3 times a week depending on region. I guess Im missing your point, cause I dont see how being in one stage vs. another is really that special.

i agree ken but the enjoyment factor is short and is only held on by hope of the future. it feels like an investment more then a game, just sitting on it just knowing it will rise again. in between this game and the other there was nothing for me to play that gave me a feel that ffxi gave me.

Sorry I like such options as they are helpful in parties a 20 gld + cure 3 makes them a pld, with nice self curing which helps out in the long run.

And I bet you never played ffxi. Levequests are glorified FOV pages which are popular in ffxi for both party and solo play. It gives you direction instead of grinding for sake of. Which is boring more so solo and alone.

The Game is OK, but for me its not a Final Fantasy game that im use to and that is mostly why I dont have fun playing it. I need a perpose or story to go with the game and have a goal to reach other then leveling. Something that drives me to go explore the world and see things.

I just feel that Final Fantasy should stick to single player games ever since FF11.
