    SMN Adjustments

    Could we get Ruinga as an AoE to use when our Aetherflow stacks are on cool down?

    Could you also make it so Ruin 1 upgrads into Ruin 2, even if you have to remove the instant cast, and make Ruin 2 do more damage.

    You could also make it so Ruin automatically upgrades into Ruin 3 during Dreadwyrm trance since that's the only time we use Ruin 3. At least that's the only time I use it.

    What? You can't take instant Ruin 2 away from SMN with all the oGCD abilities they have to weave. Do you even play the class?

    Going to be honest, when I get it to 70 I'll probably never touch it again. Class just isn't fun to play to me. These were just some ideas I had while getting it to lvl 69. The Ruin upgrades were just to have less buttons like SE tried to do in SB.

    Sorry but unless you actually play the class enough to know how it works in full, aka doing more than just leveling it up, you can't really make suggestions on what should be changed. Theres a lot of stuff wrong with summoner right now, but the ruin spells are definitely not part of that problem. Don't try to fix what isn't broken, instead give us what we actually need/want back (Sustain) and the class will be just fine.

    SMN was my caster main in 3.x, and my first DPS job to 70 in 4.x (which I've played extensively for my roulettes). I agree with the OP's suggestions in full.

    - Ruin II being castable while on the move is nice, but also incredibly niche. I'd rather see it converted into a natural upgrade from Ruin I, given a cast time, and given increased potency.

    - As things stand, it is incredibly inefficient to cast Ruin III outside Dreadwyrm Trance. I would love to see it merged into the new Ruin II from the previous point as a Dreadwyrm Trance conditional upgrade.

    - Having a legitimate option for AoE outside of Aetherflow stacks is a no-brainer. Give it 100 potency with an average AoE button mana cost, and I'm sold.

    Having gotten SMN to 70, I wouldn't mind seeing Ruin II get turned into a basic AoE, even if that means lowering the potency. Heck, they could've used that for the AoE fix for SCH too.

    You are welcome to explain how removing instant cast time on Ruin 2 would harm SMN. As of right now I mostly use it either when I need to move, or right after a Ruin 1 while waiting for Fester or Painflare to be off cool down.

    I also had another idea this morning. Perhaps allowing us to use Aetherflow abilities while in Dreadwyrm Trance.

    It also sucks very much to have to wait 20 - 30 seconds to use Aetherflow again when Dreadwyrm Trance is over in 15, and all I do is spam Ruin 3 during it with a final shot of Deathflare. Hence why I think being able to use Aetherflow abilities during Dreadwyrm would be a good idea.

    Well because of how badly undertuned smn is atm you need to optimize your demi-mut summon to as many wyrmwave attacks as possible and that requires Ruin II instant cast...
    R2 (Summon Bahamut as late into the GCD as possible) → R2 (Fester) → R2 (Akh Morn) → R2 (Swiftcast if you get a R4 proc) → R2 (Fester) → R2 (Tri-D) → R2 (Fester) → R2 (0.5 sec wait + Addle) → R2 (Akh Morn)
