Anybody else use a controller and keyboard at the same time

I use the Controller for movement and almost exclusively out of battle. I use the keyboard/mouse for battle because I find I have aquired to many abilities for the controllers cross to have all my abilities present at 1 time. Which is to bad because I find the controllers targeting easier to use than keyboard/mouse targeting.

I'm in the same boat, mostly. Keyboard and mouse for any 4 or 8 mans. Controller for everything outside of that. I'd like to get as good at controller as I am at keyboard/mouse, but I just started using controller for this game about a month ago, so it's going to take awhile to catch up since I've been playing MMO's since EverQuest.

Controller is so good on the wrists.. especially my left wrist. I guess I'm getting old but my left wrist gets uncomfortable after a few instances of mashing buttons. I am grateful that the GCD is longer than it is in WoW. It allows a lot more rest time. So if I can get good at controller, I'd like to just switch to that 100% of the time.

Are you using a gaming mouse? I personally use a Logitech G600, it has a ton of extra buttons so I don't have to use my left hand for abilities at all, I just use it for movement. I've never been good with controllers, I rarely played console games so I haven't even tried it in this, but with so many abilities now I'm not even sure how it works on a controller with so few buttons.

I use controller and cycle between 2 hotbars. I only use keyboard for menus, sometimes mouseclicks, and huds.

I don't have a gaming mouse Niraves. But I fear i would not be very good at it. I am getting older and my memory is not that good. I fear I would have a hard time remembering which button did what.

It does take some getting used to, but it might be an option to consider to make mouse/keyboard set ups a little easier on your bad wrist.

Only use the keyboard to chat, when I chat I am usually anti social. Have all skills on the first 2 bars, access the second one with the double trigger presses. I have a couple of hot bars to monitor cool downs on the second bar and it is much easier to grab a cheap mouse to set up that hotbar.

Controller in left hand for movement, right hand on my keyboard for Action/Skills. Mouse/Button for placement AoEs. This has worked for me since ARR.

I use KB/M but sometimes use a controller for gathering a large amount of mats from nodes. Gamepad has cursor memory on nodes so it's pretty easy to gather with it.
