It is not useless, it just works differently than stoneskin. It is incorporated into the lily system. Once you understand how everything works axtually in my opinion works better than stoneskin because it doesn't have a casttime, its instant. You basically only use it tankbusters (for example stormsplitter in susano ex, as I have seen plenty of tanks being oneshot) and emergencies, and to be honest I didn't really use that much of stoneskin in the past also, unless for the same reasons as described above. All and all I think it is ok.

It would be significantly better if it did not consume lilies, and was instead just (another) ogcd whm ability with a slightly different application than "heal for shitloads".

Agree on that although with the adition of cure to the lily system it makes generating lilies much easier/faster. In my opinion you really want to use always 3 lilies for assize, so when I know there will be a tank buster and have no lilies I just top someone up with a cure and then put it on the tank I want. My experience so far is that once you really understand the lily system it does become more fluid with correct planning. But with stoneskin you needed to plan also in advance because of the cast so for me all and all is fine. (Before someone says I wouldn't consider using swiftcast+stoneskin a good move to be used routinely)

They have the same purpose, blocking a tank buster, makes no sense to remove stoneskin, then replace it with an ability that is 30 levels higher with the restrictive casting. However stoneskin at least give you more utility at low levels, as it was nice having before a big pull, unlike this useless ability.
