What could be the next DPS?

The queues are no different from patch 3.1 onward in HW. DRK and AST ended up not being the best things in the world. My queue times in 3.2 used to be such that we constantly made jokes about how DPS were wasting away waiting on their queue. Right now as a MCH if I queue for kugane right now I'll be in in 10-15 minutes. Not that different from when HW launched.

If I can find it, I'll look for the interview where Yoshi said that when they looked at the data the only people who played the new tanks and healers were the ones who played that role anyways. Given how many factors could have influenced each other, it's impossible to say they weren't influenced by the state of the new tank and healer, but it does show that the only thing that changes for DPS queues is the times first few patches of it.

Yeah but Yoshi was wrong. Not only about what he said implying that people wouldn't pick up tanks if they weren't tanks before, but according to several polls people ran at 4.0 that there were about 3 times as many people switching from tank/healer to dps than people switching from dps to tank/healer. He was so wrong they ended up adding tier 6 materia to levelling roulette just to help it. And plenty of people I've talked to were around in HW launch too; it's been much worse this time around.

But hey, at least this guarantees we get a tank next expansion.

another rDPS gonna be hard, what will be the weapon? bow and gun make sense, plus a rDPS is treated like a support then don't expect it to have a huge dps.

Well yes, just like heavensward people switch out of their comfort zones to play other roles. It has nothing to do with how these things eventually even out.

Very likely by people playing the DPS job they want to play quitting the game because they cant find groups.

There likely wont be any new jobs for 2 years since they already stated they wont do new jobs outside of new expansions. I'm pretty sure by then they would have rebalanced the current jobs as far as they feel they need to. Us agreeing is a different topic.
