I think the problem is that Selense only brings "that" and nothing else.
If Eos had only Fey Illumination (and 2 useless skills) we'd see more Selene.
But currently, Eos has 3 powerful skills and Selense has 1.
That's just the issue.
I agree
I like Eos, it's Selene that needs the most attention....I still miss fey glow it was really fun to use Selene back then...silent dusk needs to be changed its useless.I hope Selene gets fixed.
Was there any news on any updates ? I remember him saying that he wasn’t done with us and he still wanted to adjust us somehow.
i have a bad feeling the will remove pets from jobs and give us something new to fill our void. we been talking about updating these fairies since the beginning of StormBlood and they just skip over us SCH's and focusing on AST and WHM. I will give them props for trying to improve the cast for whispering Dawn, but i feel its weak as Hell compared to when i Rouse first then WD. Ast is in a good spot i hope they don't take away nothing, Whm still needs that little extra and work to Lilies, Sch we just want more from our Faeries to make things fun and different.
What's crazy to me is that other than potency adjustments, Lily hasn't received any true updates since their implementation in 2.0 iirc. With the exception of Fey Union, which is not a true fairy ability, we literally still have 2.0 Lily.
In short, she's the windows vista in the SCH toolkit. Selene's abilities are hardly used, and Eos is gradually getting weaker as the SCH gets stronger. Without an update, the fairies my very well become obsolete in content in the next expansion and will rely on abilities like Fey Union to even be summoned. I'm using dissipate way more now than I did in 3.0
Personally I'd rather see Embrace buffed back to HW levels. Removing the ability to buff Whispering Dawn via Rouse was super necessary. That HoT is ridiculous with Rouse. Only CU out-healed it, and it's up even more often. Rouse as it is barely does anything for the fairies now though (effectively acting as a weaker version of Fey Union that doesn't stack, and has less management involved), so I'd like to see a rework to it to maybe activate a new pet skill. I'd like the same to happen on SMN too tbh, and 5.0 is a good time to do something like that. I'd like it to be a more meaningful heal than another medica-style cooldown tbh. Maybe a single target regen spell, or a DPS spell as someone else suggested. Could easily be another DoT cooldown too. Though one thing I'd really appreciate, is another form of damage mitigation, for one target. About the strength of Bole.
For Eos, I'd say rework Fey covenant to give Sacred Soil's buff instead, then remove the latter. For Selene, add stronger and lower CD single target versions of those buffs, meant for tank usage. Then Rouse can be a DPS cooldown or removed.
My main problem with SCH atm is how swingy they feel in dungeon runs compared to the other two healers. Their raw healing potency and efficiency does not keep up with either of the other two healers when you don't have Aetherflow, and the lack of a stun means they have to pre-dot some large pulls during the pull or not get any Bane AoE DPS in at all. I find myself leaning on the tank's cooldown management more, whereas on AST/WHM I can recover a lot easier with a single swift Holy/Bene or CO/ED if I don't trust the tank, and Cure/Bene II is a lot better than Physick + Fairy.
Truth be told I might use Selene if they had an AoE Stun, tbh.

Mechanics are Aesthetics. Graphics don't make interesting gameplay.
It is really surprising to me that both SMN and SCH don't have an Enhanced Rouse Trait. It could literally function in a cool way for both of them by maybe ensuring all pet actions Crit or reducing Pet Global Cool Down by 1.5 seconds. Rouse has potential to grow into something more impactful with a late game Trait and it seems like such a huge missed opportunity. On a side Note I would have loved for SCH to get a Trait tied to Physick as well that left an "Overly Affectionate" buff on any party member for 20 seconds increasing the potency of Embrace specifically on them. It would give us a reason to use Physick at least on Tanks and really help with the inconsistency of Aetherflow powered Heal Spikes.
Also Selene and Silent Dusk would be great if when she was on Sic she only used it on Abilities that could ACTUALLY be Silenced and it could override immunity like the Stun from a Monk's One Ilm Punch. Silence is clearly inferior to a Stun and it has a long cool down but leaving Selene on Sic in over geared dungeons would be much more rewarding if she didn't fail to Silence anything and everything effectively losing 1/4 of her skills. Fey Caress also needs a delay. I don't mean a cast time but a delay before it takes effect because she cast it immediately when one person gets posioned and even though the whole party got posioned by the same enemy her skill can end up only removing the debuff from the first person who got hit in the sequence. Selene's skills should not need to be micromanaged for effectiveness when they mostly suck to begin with. She should be on Sic like a big girl who can make good decisions for herself. The ability to silence one enemy in a giant mib without us targeting them is actually brilliant but it falls apart in practice with the way her ability fails so much.
