    Is Dissipation really that bad?

In SCH threads I see Dissipation getting a lot of flack for being an abysmal skill, which I can understand for the reasoning that it takes out our mighty healing turret out of commision for a good 30 seconds and only provides a barely useful 20% healing pot. buff.

My qualms with this attitude is that I never see any constructive feedback for the skill as it already exists. Because I don't like seeing skills just collect dust on my hotbar I tend to pop it when I've successfully exhausted all of my AF stacks and manage to still have another 30 seconds until I get another, rather than hope beyond hope that physick and Embrace can keep your tank from being razed to the ground by sustained fire from a mob or boss.

So my question is for those who use Dissipation. How and when do you use it? Is there an optimal time, do you plan like 10 seconds ahead? And how do you make the best of your time in it?

I myself always make sure to pop largesse after eating my fairy which grants just enough shield pot. to let me cast another spell before the tank starts falling again.

    Things I'm aware of:

    - AF unaffected by pot. boost
    - Mp cost of succor and Adlo (Your shielding spells which are affected by Pot. boost) are still very much expensive.
    - The skill clashes with Fey Union (Which I still haven't bothered to retrieve yet, give me reasons why and I might.)

The skill is not bad because u lost ur fairy on the transition, is bad because the MP cost to re-call your fairy is not worth it.
Only usables scenario is chaos happening and u dont have aetherflows nor MP to heal over a raid-wide aoe dmg (but if u dont have MP u wont be able to re-call the fairy later on)

So yeah, dissipation sucks, it may have a very situational use but besides that it doesnt.

The skill isn't good because you have to spend the MP cost to resummon the fairy. If it worked like summoning Bahamut, where the fairy comes back after it ends, then it'd be far more useable (and I for one would be WILLING to use it often).

I mean no offense but what are you guys casting that needs so much mana? Could there be a possible workaround such as planning LD usage around it? I know I myself rarely tend to run out of mana and instead options during these episodes. (ie. emergency tactics & Indom on cd leaving my only viable AF skills of note to be lustrate or Energy Drain to gain mana back.) I'm rarely spamming physick at this point and if I am only, because it's THE most mana-efficient thing on my hotbar. By the end of Dissipation I'm left with enough mana to swiftcast my fairy back into being unless I had to waste it on someone who died recently to a mechanic of some sort (usually dps because I like to keep my tanks floating somewhere around 75%).

Like is there anyone in this game who actually finds the skill usable at least marginally and has a gameplan set up in the case that it NEEDS to be used, and how best effectively?

I imagine that there is at least one SCH with godly mp-management skills somewhere around here.

nothing really they're probably spamming succor or adlo and teammates getting hit by mechanics. djsiipation has it's downsides but that's not to say it's a weak and useless ability. you have to find ways to use it and it's not bad once you learn the fight. I try to use it when I can. I've only done o1s and o2s and there's PLENTY of downtime and transition phases that I can afford to hardcast summoning the fairy back.

that said I mostly use the fey illumination/covenant > dissipated largessed deployed adlo combo . adding sacred soil here and there. it's godly when it crits. I've gotten as high as 15K adlo crit lol. the tanks barely took any damage during Twinbolt:]]

I like dissipation. fits the whole tactical and pre planning niche of the sCH. don t listen to the Doom and gloom you often see in the forums. especially NOW 4.05 when all healers are fine/viable/ desireable/not useless

The problem is not that "i dont have enough mana to re summon the faerie" the problem is "Mp you spent on dissipation could be easily used on your basic heals, and you can get more heals from it + Having the faerie"

Dissipation is quite amazing if you can utilize it. The mana cost is minimal - a bit more than a succor. Thou it needs to sync with swiftcast and aetherflow remaining cd which can require a lot of planning :P

This is what I'm looking for it's definitely not as useless as everyone seems to think it's like SCH overdrive (well when used with largesse anyway.)
