An idea on how they might redo the armory system

I know that there is a lot of talk about how they will be redoing the armory system and adding new advanced jobs let alone how they will be implimenting them.

Well as much as I hate saying this but I do see it as an option....

Let's say that they add Thief. In order to unlock the Thief "Job" you have to lvl Lancer for the trick attack pugilist for the sneak attack archer for the flee pugilist for the evasion buff archer for the magical shadows and etc.

Now once you have obtained all the "X" abilities you are now able to become a Traditional Final Fantasy Theif! These abilities that you take from the current classes are then enhanced making them stronger and more potent. Granted that you need to learn these abilities by a certain level so you may progress as the Thief class earlier on instead of later on in the game. Possbily adding a quest line that requires you to learn all of the "X" abilities and skills in order to continue the path of the "Thief" and then comes AF and so on as well as the Final Ability/Weapon skill that defines the class in End Game cinerios such as "Tachi: Gekko" and "Side Winder". I know everyone had their weapon skill or ability that they just could not wait to learn and use for the longest times. I dont see that nor do I feel that in FF14.

Everybody asks the question "WHERE ARE MY 2HOURS or WHERE ARE MY OVERDRIVES" maybe these can be implemented at the level cap give players a further purpose to pursue that class to the max level and utilize it in End Game activities.

Once you have become this Thief, lets say around lvl 30, you then begin to learn the Thiefs "advanced job abilities" and "advanced weapon skills" that make that class unuiqe and gives you a purpose to continue on to the higher levels.

This is utilizing both FF11 armory system and FF14's armory system.

RANT Granted they completely change the combat system in hopes of making it strategic like FF11 was instead of button mashing of all of your abilities doing the same damage no matter the weapon skill you use with the limitiation of cool downs AND stamina...

    What do you think?

this was the point i was making that if you add final fantasy tactics system where you need minimum rank requirements like 30lnc 26pug 22arc to open up a quest line similar to the ones for FFxi advance jobs. this would give lore, and enough challenge to players that would make players be proud to achieve max cap for an advance job because they know it isnt an easy road. sure people with time and effort can prob unlock many advance jobs but it wouldnt be as easy as getting r50 then going to the guild and talk to an npc and upgrade into a tier2 class with little to no effort. i know ranking up to 50 isnt easy but ranking/leveling is to be expected from any MMO that it is like saying just hand me what i want with out any effort. that is when i thought since a few patches ago they made 1-30 easier to rank up and in FFxi 30 is when you can unlock advance jobs, 20-30 range would be a good range in order to get multiple classes up to for a pre-req quest line for lore just to unlock an advance job.
