Hope in an update or two we can get some info on what exactly the Au'ra originate from.

Only if I can RP as a lusty argonian maid![]()
Anyway, I think Au Ra look fine for a game of its aesthetic. I wish the females could've looked more mature like in the concept art instead of being petite, but it's whatever.
Hopefully when they actually decide to upgrade the character creation for existing races, they give an opion to add more body scales for those people who want them more reptilian-looking.

Honestly, I'd be down for any new race with less than human characteristics. I was hoping we'd get a fishy race for the underwater emphasis of Stormblood, but SE did a silly and decided Raen are mer-people instead of just being Doman? Boring!
I think another animalistic race is the next step. While I'm fully supportive of a Viera inspired race, my actual dream is for bird people. Something between Gwendolyn from Odin Sphere and the Rito from Legend of Zelda. At least I have two varieties of birdy beast tribes... *sighs*
My fantasia addiction might be resolved one day if a race could really fit what I like, but right now I'm default Hyuran and bored.
I'm not sure I want to embrace our new lizard overlords!
The closer it is to looking like a beast tribe, then its going to be a beast tribe. That is SE's mentality when it comes to races.
So beastial/far less human designs are automatically relegated to being beast tribe NPCs.
Hence why the Au Ra got watered down to what they are, as it saves SE from having to go through and change everything to fit a non standardized shape.

I want a plant/tree/flowerish race instead. Like the other races it would be 2/3 human obviously but maybe with very sophisticated textures on skin and eyes. Another particularity could be that you can make both male and females from very short to very high like from female aura to male elezen height.
