    WAR Consolidated Feedback Thread

    Hey Guys, seeing as DRK's got a Feedback Thread, I figure putting all our thoughts for Warrior would be helpful! Honestly I feel like all three Tanks should have had these threads from the start and stickied but hey, thems the breaks.

    While waiting for Maintenance I figure putting my own thoughts down would help, anyways so onto my opinions.

    Upheaval is amazing, I love popping that off with Thrill! Fell Cleave could make do with some Potency Buffs, I feel seeing as we lack Utility, we should be doing a liiiiittle bit more damage? Kinda like the SAM of Tanks?

    I wish Shake it Off and Inner Release actually did what it said on the Descriptions and removed/protected you from the debilitating Debuffs. Seeing our IR/Zerk Window heavily relies on us being able to stay in place and not be hindered by mechanics, it's clear Inner Release is meant to have us not have to worry about not finishing our combos, but that's the problem, It doesn't work, even if it says it should on the description.



    Also, how come IR and Unchained share a recast timer? I never understood that.

    Onslaught's fine, and now that we can swap practically freely again, I've been finding myself having more fun with Warrior now that I can setup a Hate Lead and then bring down bosses with Deliverance!

    Storm's Path buff was beautiful, fantastic, now it's the same as eye except now you dont lose any damage when youre trying to build your guage!

    Do you guys got anything else to add? Anyother Thoughts?

    So, I think the biggest issue I have with WAR right now, is that it has 2 windows for burst DPS and you have to line them up every time. It's what made NIN unfun to me and pointlessly hard in 3.x, so I'm not sure why they made this choice in 4.x

    The steel cyclone change to me is fantastic. Its like SE realized it must have sucked to take bloodbath from us and made an apology by it. Apology accepted. Made stance dancing cost free at our own discretion again, feelsgoodman. Inner release and unchained cost free? Beautiful. Onslaught...why does it still cost 20? And to hit as hard as an autoattack at that? Would love to see it as a more damaging ability that gives like 10 BG or something. Would give us that earned higher damage for no utility. Extend the cd if you need to but for now I dont really use it... Im all excited rubbing my hands together for whatever you change shake it off to its so terrible lol

    Feedback threads are good, but the community reps actually told us to NOT use megathreads for feedback innit?

    Regardless, what's going on now is a good START- we still have pretty much no identity, no utility, and the damage difference is still too small to warrant bringing a Warrior over a Paladin. Maybe over a drk, but only because drks only have one useful skill and not because they're anywhere near as desireable as a Paladin lol

    The Steel Cyclone thing is half hearted. We would have gotten the same benefit out of just... you know, using bloodbath. 22.1% or whatever is too low. Way, way too low to even seriously consider it as a realistic replacement.

    Onslaught is actually good to use on cooldown due to no opportunity loss...I do wish it didn't have a cost though, its not like our dps is goood enough that would tip us over either. Also be nice to charge things from out of combat =/

    I think it was deliberate. I mean, SE constantly pushes us to tank in tanking stance. If you would get Bloodbath back (or anything similar to that), WARs would sit if DPS stance just as they did in 3.x.
    I am very happy what they did with Steel Cyclone, it was one of my wishes for a long time, but I agree that HP recovery is somehow lacking these few percent, just like in case Path and IB...

    These are my issues with WAR, all of these might just be me sucking at the job. But hey did not SE say that they would make the jobs easier and not harder to play in SB, less punishing and so on?
    1) Unchained: the main problem with IR is not that it share a recast time with unchained, it is however the only problem with unchained since it pretty much made it an unwanted skill. Making it so that these two skills does not share a recast would fix it, removing the cost of using it did not.
    2) Inner Release: for IR the main problem is how it is designed, its immunity works but not when SE thinks they should not and they never tell us this making it a "surprised we messed with you!" sort of thing. The buildup for a IR+zerk window is really long, it takes time but that is not the main issue since you can build up without fearing to lose the benefits of the skill. The main issue is how long the burst window is combined with the current boss design that has a lot of movement to and from a boss, sure these times are not long but they don't have to be in order to be punishing during this window. There are ways to fix this skill, not sure if anyone else want it changed but these are my suggestions.
    a) IR give the next attack that cost gauge a really large dps increase, the skill costs the entire gauge. One insanely strong fell cleave would be just as satisfying as 6 normal ones, and you would not need to bash those buttons.
    b) A simple dps increase.
    c) Gives the war a 1min buff that halves the beast gauge cost of <x amount> attacks that cost beast gauge, when the min is up or the amount of skills used the buff is over.
    d) Gives the party a damage up buff.
    3) The potency of our normal combos. Since SE is most likely going of dummy numbers as they count our dps I am guessing IR is the primary reason why they are unwilling to buff these, buffing them so we can keep close to the other tanks even without maximizing IR would in their mind make the class OP since on a dummy you can always maximize IR, so any fight where you can do that WAR would be OP if they buffed the potency of our normal combos.

    On the defensive side WAR is fine, if anything I would want them to give DRK one more def skill and shorten down the 3min ones for DRK and PLD toward 2min.
    I am however not hopeful that SE will listen to our complains, they did not from the media tour until release. Sure they fixed the stance swapping in 4.05 which was a thing they broke in the first place, they are also going to change Shake it off which is a skill that never should have been in the game in the first place, until it is fixed we pretty much lack a lvl68 skill, yay for progression times without one. So some obvious fixes but unless they want WAR to be on the sideline this expansion they have to make some rather big changes come 4.1.

    Time to raid as another tank I guess, not seeing SE fixing this in the next couple of years no matter how much we complain.

    I never understand anyone who says "SE wants tanks in tanking stance". If this is at all true, then WAR design is the most messed up thing they have ever done. It has its abilities locked behind its stances, and has all its dps abilities locked to the dps stance.
