I wouldn't miss out on raid storylines, just because they call it raiding, don't let it deter you. It's no harder than normal dungeons and most of the time more fun! Plus it's like a mini msq with cud and the gang! Watch some guide videos on YouTube if you wanna be better prepared. They are quite fun!

Thats the problem, I don't learn by reading or watching stuff, I have to experience things first hand. Plus I don't like spoiling anything. And I really don't want to annoy people by dying or wiping because I'm not getting raid mechanics down. I'm willing to keep doing it over and over but there are too many people who don't like a person like myself who has too much trouble getting mechanics down. I may consider it but honestly it's not that important to me. Sure I want to experience the story stuff too but still.

I'm the same, I TRY to watch videos but will forget about half of it and its the really important stuff too, or I panic and forget what the video said. I need the first hand learning/exp, but I TRY videos for others. I have done a couple of raids and they are really fun once you get them down, but it would be cool if you were on the same server, I'd totally add you and we could try learning/raiding together, start a group and what not of like minded people who don't want to "inconvenience" others.

If you go to easy/story mode 'raid' just say ''this is my first time here'' and everyone will go (yeah bonus!) to themselves. If you die, no big deal.
Just try to remember lessons the game has taught you previously, like what the ''gather up'' symbol looks like.

Also to lvl your gatherers, at least do the daily GC hand in, its cheap, fast and worth a lot of EXP. Double if you can be bothered to gather 10 HQ instead of NQ.

In even number patches gear is supposed to mildly difficult to obtain. You have tomestones and normal mode raids for now if you don't want to do susano/Lakshmi (they are very easy if you want to build confidence in that kind of content) or savage. It is 4.1 where you will get the casual content progression through 24man, relic, and unique content.

Takes me at least 3 runs to get mechanics down well in most raids, that doesn't stop me. Once something gets past my terrible short term memory it stays there.

I am leveling my miner and botanist using guild leves now that my white mage is at 70. I am 51 botanist and 40 miner. I find it fun and relaxing. Find activities you love and do them. And congrats on clearing MSQ. Wrapping up an expansion storyline is always such a satisfying thing.

Ill echo what a few other people have said about the Omega raids(non-savage) not being hard. They progress from fewest mechanics in V1 to most in V4, but regardless of how "complex" any of the fights are none of them are punishing enough that one player goofing up will tank the group. Even 1 bum healer/tank can be survived in any of them as long as their counterpart is on point. A DPS whos not fully up to speed just means it takes longer to finish. So dont let the "raid" name scare you away - from these or the alliance raids that come in future patches. Try 'em when you have time, see if you enjoy, and keep having fun.
