    Dear SE, we arent all no life neckbeard basement dwellers

    So stop with the forced multiplayer dungeons already!
    Make them solo for MSQ and then have them be raid-hard for repeating. In queue for over 20 minutes now. Not every one has time to waste like this.
    Dont say play a tank or healer either. That is not a solution and beyond stupid to say because then we'd all be tanks and healers and no other jobs. And you dont always have 8 people in an fc willing to run dungeons. This is an unacceptable design idea from SE.

    I have a 40+ hour a week job, and still managed to complete the main story on a DPS class. Find friends, you just need 1 or 2. Just sayin.

    While I do not entirely agree with the OP - this "point" you make is soooo tiring. Multiplayer does not mean instanced content that requires more than one or two players - it just means there are many players online in the same game space interacting with each other...and if you want be all technical - I don't see everyone Roleplaying even though that is in the acronym, too. Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game. So hey, if you want to claim multiplayer means instanced dungeon content for 4+ people then I think everyone should have to Roleplay, too.

    Roleplay =/= Role-playing Game

    here the excerpt from wikipedia with some highlighted information:

    "Roleplayer" redirects here. For the RPG magazine, see Roleplayer (magazine).
    Not to be confused with other forms of role-playing.

    A role-playing game (sometimes spelled roleplaying game[1][2] and abbreviated to RPG) is a game in which players assume the roles of characters in a fictional setting. Players take responsibility for acting out these roles within a narrative, either through literal acting or through a process of structured decision-making or character development.[3] Actions taken within many games succeed or fail according to a formal system of rules and guidelines.[4]

    There are several forms of RPG. The original form, sometimes called the tabletop RPG (TRPG), is conducted through discussion, whereas in live action role-playing games (LARP) players physically perform their characters actions.[5] In both of these forms, an arranger called a game master (GM) usually decides on the rules and setting to be used, acting as referee, while each of the other players plays the role of a single character.[6]

    Several varieties of RPG also exist in electronic media, such as multi-player text-based MUDs and their graphics-based successors, massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs). Role-playing games also include single-player role-playing video games in which players control a character or team who undertake quests, and may include capabilities that advance using statistical mechanics. These games often share settings and rules with tabletop RPGs, but emphasize character advancement more than collaborative storytelling.[7][8]

    Despite this variety of forms, some game forms such as trading card games and wargames that are related to role-playing games may not be included. Role-playing activity may sometimes be present in such games, but it is not the primary focus.[9] The term is also sometimes used to describe roleplay simulation games and exercises used in teaching, training, and academic research.

    First of all, as you have already been told, Roleplaying game =/= roleplaying but rather describes an immersive setting where the game treats you as if you were your character, like Skyrim, which is undoubtedly a rpg but the most roleplaying the average player does there is probably playing through their adult mods.
    Now, as for the multiplayer part, while it is indeed not necessary to force group content onto players, allowing everyone to solo play their way up to raids would be a huge waste of server space. Most people don't even do raids, so dungeons and trials are the standart group content, and if you let players do those alone you might as well give them a single player rpg with chat and maybe a lobby to meet up with others. I know that there is other MMOs who allow this, but the thing is that ffxiv has decided their way of handling things, and introduces players to this early on when you get three dungeons in a row starting as early as level 15.
    I am not denying that there is a problem when dps have to wait 40 minutes to even get into a dungeon, but at the same time, when those very dps know they could not only switch role but simply ask a tank or healer if they can help them out, but refuse to do either of those, and focus on complaining about their wait times instead of even thinking of leveling a crafter or gatherer to spend the wait, there isn't really much to be done to help you with.

    More cracked clusters for us, I guess.

    You have a solution. Choosing to remain part of the problem is on you, not SE.

    It's not that bad. Your grumpy persona kind of matches your avatar though.
