I think quest lvling is more of a wow style were you arent dependent on partys so much. I prefer to play in a party as much as possable. Maybe some better quest that are party oriented that yield high xp is what id be in favor for.

For example the moogle quest(exluding the boss fight) could have been a nice party quest for 80,000 xp no repeats. that's a few hours of play with a party and youd gain an entire lvl (depending on current lvl.

Personally, I virtually guildleve'd my lancer all the way to 50 (I can count on one hand the number of lvl parties I've been in). FFXIV just added the PC search so things may change, but the hassle of putting a party together to grind leves... let's just say I'd rather simply play the game. It seems a lot easier to get people together for the raids than to get from level 20-30...
