Gesturing while talking (like in cutscenes)?

In custscenes, our characters often gesture with their hands (or sometimes just one hand) while talking.

Is there any way to do this in game? If not, there really should be.

WoW and some other MMOs have systems where, when talking, if you end a sentence with "!" or "?", it changes the way your character gestures, but I don't believe FFXIV does, sadly.

If it were added it'd better be optional to turn on/off like mouth flaps. And ooooold software called IMVU has this for certain phrases and there's no way to turn it off.

It's really annoying.

...Except there are no emotes in the list of emotes for the hand gestures our characters make mid-cutscene.

Oh~ you're talking about the "blah blah blah" emote characters do during cutscenes? That's not an emote we can use. I wish we could get that and the "eh..." head tilt the WoL does.

Ah, I figured as much but wasn't sure if there was some non-obvious method of making it happen, and yes, I badly want that head tilt.

You can kind of do it by using the "Huh" emote while sitting, but then you're sitting, sooo...

Count me in for this. I always got iffy I can't do the hand gesturing or the head tilt for screenshot purposes. I'd love if we could get these!

We need these and the cute surprised emote we do sometimes...

While we're at it, we need more persistent emotes in general. Persistent reading & writing emotes have been requested for at least two years now, and the animations themselves are mostly in game already, in some form or another.
