They are still going to the wards, if you read the chat text. Only that players can't enter the wards now. It work as lore design.I really think there is, look at the retainers, that is purely based off 1.0 and did nothing to change it. (other then attaching them to the MB, that is the only change moving to 2.0 and the removal of the wards. Without the wards to go to, they should not be dropping items to sell when you interact with them)
And who say that they used 1.0 codes for the retainer, and not just the concept with new codes?
Even if square upgraded their servers to the most modern state of the art systems you guys would still be demanding them to upgrade their servers because the inherent problem would not be fixed. Because the reward is a mount everyone wants it and everyone swarms it the moment it is up. The instances fill up and the individual connections people have cannot withstand the hundreds upon hundreds of player action updates flooding through their connection in any given second leading to mass lag.
This is why if they wanted Ixion to reward a mount, it should have been an 8 trial. Just to prevent this kind of issue.
Very different compared to Fox Lady where within a couple weeks the amount of people gunning for it died down considerably.

With all the drama I keep reading over Ixion, I can't help but laugh because I think it's the ugliest most ridiculous mount in the game.

I agree completely. Not only is it ugly it's ridiculously huge. But ti's the newest thing so people will flock to it like lemmings running over a cliff.

That also would not surprise me, lol

Sorry to burst your bubbles guys, but they didnt reuse the xi or xiv servers when they moved datacenters. They had 48 hours, thats not enough time to uncable, unrack, pack, ship, receive, rerack, recable, test, and go live in a new location. We had a picture of some of the racks with servers already in them a month prior to the move. Gonna have to blame something else this time. Sorry![]()
It's not about how new the equipment might (or might not) be. There is not enough of it. They need to add resources to those "congested" servers for a start. They need to adjust their max logins so people aren't sitting about waiting in a long queue to log in. They need to understand those servers are going to have more people in a zone for special hunts/fates, etc. They need to stop gimping things like inventory and housing and using the "resources" excuse. That just can't wash - if you do not have the "resources" to accomodate your player base, something is very wrong.
Putting servers in AU could ease issues on some of the congested JP/US servers (only a masochist in AU would be using an EU server)

They had what, 2 years to make 2.0? dev probably started in 2011, servers shut down in 2012, and 2.0 launched in 2013. By any measurements, that was a miracle.

To make the charicter data easier to covert they used the bloted 1.0 code which is why we have instance issues, space issues etc
