    Maximizing MRD DPS after 1.2

I am not interested in checking my DPS in SB or exp parties, just bosses (or any single target with big HP pool).

I have only done Ifrit for 4-5 times after patch 1.2 and I like the new MRD changes but I am not sure how I can use them most efficiently.

    My questions are :

1- Do attack and dmg buffs affect all 3 hits from Godsbane?
2- Should I use Keen Flurry with Godsbane or Whirlwind?
3- When starting a combo, do I spam all abilites after each other or allow my char for 1 auto attack between each ability?

I am really interested to see if someone done some testing/calculating regarding "No.3".

This is because TP generation is a bit slower now. I really hate having an ability ready but not enough TP.

Also, anyone has any tips/tricks on how to squeeze more dmg for ifrit?

Use Blood for Blood with Maim

Use Keen Flurry for Godsbane. After the first one, you should be able to do another Godsbane combo so that both Godsbane and Keen Flurry come off cooldown at the same time.

If you spam your combo, you're gonna be stuck in animation lock for a looong time.

The many Ifrit threads have lots of tips on strategy.

I agree with you, animation lock is very deadly. However, I am talking from the DPS point of view.

Should I be spamming abilities in all combos or do one AA between each ability to improve my TP flow?

Wich will give better overall DPS.

Unfortunately because of the way combos work melee have become less efficient at Ifrit. If ya heard, THM burns are the way to go.

Lienn is correct in the lower post, did some testing on it and the Blood For Blood buff affects the first hit and not the proceeding.

With that said, Keen Flurry you'll want to keep for Godsbane for single target, this combo provides better single-target DPS, Whirlwind is your SB/grind party Bread n' Butter.

My rotation for that specific combo (Brutal Swing > Maim > Godbsane) goes like this:
Brutal Swing > Bloodbath (if HP is needed) > Maim > Keen Flurry > Quelling Strike > Blood For Blood > Godsbane.

I've found going for four buffs tends to kill the time requirement for the combo, so Bloodbath I usually pop before Maim as you'll still get a good 250 - 400 HP depending on target.

The reason you will want Quelling Strike is that it affords 300-400 TP upon use of a WS, so it definitely serves a purpose if you find TP to be an issue.

As far as testing I haven't done any specifics yet, but I have been parsing some info which I'm going to put up in my Marauder 1.20 thread once I'm finished. I'm also working on gear sets and other options so keep an eye on the thread and I should be putting more work into it over the next couple weeks.

1- Nop, it affects just the first hit.
2- Use with Whrilwind since it has the highest recast and biggest overall damage. Same for blood to blood, bloodbath and all other buffs. Only useful buff for godsbane is berserk itself.
3- i use all 3 in a row for godsbane combo and buff before whrilwind at whrilwind combo. AFAIK the AA timer resets after every WS so if you wait it trigger you might lose a large beef of combo timer.

I use keen flurry and Hawk's eye together on Godsbane, I have a single macro for both as they share identical cooldowns. I also use blindside for Path of the Storm since it's always used from behind. Other than that I don't really bother using blood for blood, as time is sometimes an issue and it is kind of crappy at least from my experience.

Keeping up berserk is probably THE most important thing you can do outside getting your combos right. Berserk nearly doubles my damage on the moogles, so if you can keep it up and not take any damage... you will do just as well as any archer.

Blood for Blood is actually just a flat attack increase. It will add the same range of damage to any single-hit attack.

It doesn't apply to auto attack.
