Can anyone share a good crafting rotation for the new level 70 items (the master crafts) ?
Can anyone share a good crafting rotation for the new level 70 items (the master crafts) ?
Honestly, there is nothing so far that is not 100% wing-able...
I have a lot of fun making my first progress burst with Name-oF / Brand Of... I barely use Maker`s Mark anymore.
I like what they did to specialists, they are very potent but not a necessity. I hope they never go back to locking recipes behind them.
The thing is, with the addition of the Tea`s on top of food, You have so much flexibility that you can wing most of the recipes with great success. The 3.0 thought process is still valid. Specialists should be renamed RNG negators really...
I just do Observe -> Focused Touch / Focused Synthesis now (with Byregot's Brow on the second to last step), finishing off with Careful Synthesis III or Observe -> Focused Synthesis depending on the need.
Observe -> Focused works well with Comfort Zone and Manipulation II.
How do you know when to use Name Of (whatever) or Brand of (whatever)?
I have no idea how to use any of the new skills nor how much CP I should have.
Hasty Touch II, Careful Synthesis III, Rapid Synthesis II completely replaced the previous versions so you can straight up replace them with the new one.
Manipulation II may also render Manipulation I useless. Manipulation II regains 40 durability with 96 CP. Manipulation I regains 30 durability with 88 CP.
I don't know how or when to use Patient Touch and Prudent Touch but I mostly use Focused Synthesis and Focused Touch which has 100% success rate if you use it after Observe, which means you don't need Steady Hand at all. The nice thing is Comfort Zone and Manipulation II work well with Observe + Focused combo. Waste Not and Steady Hand are wasted if you use this combo.
Initial Preparations is amazing if you have specialist. Use it on the first step, and any time later you can choose to restore 25 durability, 65 CP or add Inner Quiet Stack by 3 (great to use before Byregot's Blessing / Brow).
You basically pop Name of (whatever) and use Brand of (whatever) until the stacks run out. be very careful though, because if you're outlevelling the recipe, it's VERY POTENT. I mostly use this combo to craft base mats that have 40 DUR
I wish i could give you a solid rotation but I really just wing everything for now and it works just fine. I can't macro anything because I'm currently on a very bad foreign connection so I really haven't paid any attention nor have I developped any sort of rotation. Hell, my hotbars are a complete mess... almost as chaotic as my retainers inventories
I'm trying to compare:
(Steady Hand II + Prudent Touch x5) x2
total cost: 260 CP, 50 durability
quality progress: 1000%
inner quiet stack +10
and
(Observe -> Focused Touch) x5
total cost: 125 CP, 50 durability
quality progress: 750%
inner quiet stack +5
The first one leads to shorter rotation and faster synthesis but the second one leaves you more room to maneuver with Manipulation II or an extra Comfort Zone and you can hit Trick of the Trade if it turns good before Observe.
Here's my rotation for 80 durability on specialist classes. I usually run these 15 steps as a starter macro.
Initial Preparations (preserves CP, gives finishing options)
Comfort Zone (80 CP for cost of 66)
Whistle While You Work
Inner Quiet
Careful Synthesis II (buffer for M2 durability restoration)
Manipulation II (steps cost 10 durability, then restore 5)
Steady Hand II (50% less fails than Steady Hand)
Patient Touch (chance for 2 stacks of Inner Quiet worth it..
Patient Touch (.. when you have no stack to lose)
Hasty Touch II (HT2 with SH2 is 90% successful)
Hasty Touch II
Hasty Touch II
Comfort Zone (CZ wears off, so we refresh)
Careful Synthesis II (buffer)
Manipulation II (M2 wears off, so we refresh)
After this macro, I usually press Steady Hand II and wing the rest.

After the macro above, I usually press Steady Hand II and wing the rest. If you prefer going full macro, here's the second sequence.
Steady Hand II
Innovative Touch (Innovation buff for these late sequence touches is huge)
Hasty Touch II
Hasty Touch II
Hasty Touch II
Byregot's Blessing (you should be 100%+ for HQ now)
Nymeia's Wheel (gets back durability)
Specialty: Reinforce (gets back durability)
Ingenuity II (useful for its buff to synthesis steps)
Careful Synthesis II
Careful Synthesis II
Careful Synthesis II
... usually 3 Careful Synthesis II will finish the item. Do more if needed.
I thought I'd share what I'm doing, since I didn't see a clear strategy on this thread or in my internet searches. Better sequences may be out there, but this one works well for me.
