    The Armoire Needs An Update

Specifically, the head slot. I currently have 13 level one, unique/untradeable hats in my armory chest.

We should be able to put all of these in our armoire. Same with the RDM/SAM starting gear that doesn't seem to be re-obtainable.

While I'm at it, all the i290 gear we get from the level 70 job quest should go in there, too.

Honestly, every single piece of level one unique/untradeable gear should be able to go in the armoire the day we get them.

As I'm currently not online, I cannot confirm this myself, but aren't the i290 job quest gears re-obtainable from the Calamity Salvager?

They are, under job-specific/Level 70 including weapons. 1k each.

...Or scrap the Armoire entirely and give us a "Glamour Log" similar to WoW's transmog system, allowing us to collect the appearance of any item that has been bound to us without needing to keep the item in storage after that.

that would prob kill the server....as all players will have ever expending logs rather than logs that's limited to the max inventory spaces.

Compromise: When right clicking/hitting square to move an item to inventory/desynth/convert, have another option: Add to Glamour Log

Then you can put only items you want in there, and be able to remove items in the same way.

It's not an inventory but a checklist, though.

The game is no longer tracking these items as what dye color they are or what their spirit bond and repair %s may be. It only needs to ask "Does the player have this item unlocked for glamouring onto another item? Yes/No".

It's actually a far more eloquent solution because it not only allows players to "collect" glamour to fill out their logs but it also frees up a lot of inventory space and eases database load as players vendor the piles of things that have been molding in their Armoires anyway.

In fact, with a glamour log, they could delete Armoires entirely, which is what WoW did with "void storage" when they added the transmog log (and the Armoire is basically XIV's version of "void storage").

A glamour log would use less than 1% of the space required per item compared to one inventory slot. And even then you can tie more than one item to that 1 bit needed.

how do you know it uses less than 1% of the space required per item compared to one inventory slot?

For one inventory slot you need to store multiple integers for item id, tmog id, durability, materia, dye, quanity. Some of this might use short when on an item like materia and byte for dye you would still stand with 32+32+16*5+8+8 bits so 160 bits is needed for one inventory slot to hold a piece of equipement. While with a glamour log that same piece of equipment only need 1 bit to know that you have it. And even then you could tie an entire armor set if not an entire equipment tier to that one bit.
