Hello, everyone. First post here on the forums and thought I would share something that I have found.

Recently I purchased Stormblood two days ago and when attempting to download the expansion I was hit with the infamous patch [20512] [25008] errors. This usually happened around a few hundred megabytes of data downloaded. My first instinct was to search around the forums and search for possible solutions as this hadn't happened to me before. I found that this has been an issue from quite a long time ago and has never really been 'fixed'. I tried all possible solutions that people had suggested, so changing DNS to google server and what not. I tried using a VPN and connecting that to my PS4 to no avail. I even decided to completely delete the game from my library and start the download again (do not do this, just a warning) but the problem persisted.

I eventually stopped trying after a while and left it for a day without much though, hoped that the next day it would download without a hitch. I had read of some people saying that they just tried and tried and eventually the problem would resolve itself. I too hoped to have the same problem.

Come to today when I decided to try the download again and I still received the error. Whilst attempting to try and download the whole game again I hit the home button and browsed the playstation store (I usually like to see if anything catches my interest and it gives me something to do). After around 10 minutes I decided to check back with the download and to my surprise when the download had caught up it had downloaded 1400mb which it previously never got to. I was able to get to the next portion of the download so that if it would ever crash it would already have something downloaded. From this I would have to assume that putting the game to download in the background made it so I didn't have the patch errors.

So far I have only received the error message once, whereas before I was getting it all the time. The only thing I would say is that you should check back every so often so the download can catch up with itself.

Sorry for the long post but I just wanted to explain my situation thoroughly. If anyone has this problem I hope this might help you. It still boggles me that this is still an issue but what can you do?
