I have hear dthat trying to play both is dificult, especially considering they use different main stats and would need diferent gear.

The main stat difference is no longer a thing, and to be honest it wasn't a big deal when it was a thing. We used to have 35 points to assign, but as of Stormblood launch, those points have been removed. They do need different gear, though, from 50 onward.
