Stuck at 60 because I don't know what to leve SAM/NIN... Please help.

So its time for me to decide to take NIN or SAM to 70, I don't really care for SAM and I really enjoy NIN but im told SAM isn't really a class until 62 so is it worth to push through with SAM on the chance that i MIGHT enjoy it when the oGCD and kenki gen starts or should I do NIN first then come back for SAM.

I enjoy the NIN alot at 60 and I don't mind SAM at 60 but it feels a little slow and lacking in resource gen and usage. I don't know If I should take the NIN which I know and like to 70 first using MSQ and then come back and do the SAM through fates/dungeons so if I end up not liking it when the 62 and 64 mechanics are introduced my NIN isn't screwed.

Thoughts? NIN First to 70 using MSQ then come back and do SAM so if I dont enjoy it with the 60-70 mechanics im not playing catchup on NIN.

My biggest issue is my SAM at 60 is okay, its pretty slow and static rotation with little actual resource use,but not as fun as my NIN but its also missing core mechanics.

My thought? Play what you like most!!! If you aren't aspiring to be in the 1% world-first raider groups, please please please play what you like because the game is built around that thought!

And if at some point you want to be in the 1% world-first raider groups, roll a new character and go for the max-est of the min-maxest! (And if develop an attitude while doing that, act as it really matters anywhere else in /shout chat on that character ... but please don't lol)

Hmmm you could do what most people do and level both -.-;; What SAM is a power house and nin doesn't fall far behind. I'm doing both just on my down time for now and focusing on my short time goals for now. EX Tank for quick daily tome runs, 1 Range DPS, Main DRG , for life :P, 1 Healer min, just to help people in rotation / raid parties ( if needed )

Kenki Mastery 2 makes SAM feel worlds better, and is the main reason I won't take it into roulette that might drop me below that level. It adds 5 kenki to all of your standard rotational buttons, including gekko/yuki/kasha, making them generate 10 with the positional, 5 without. Most importantly it does not add any new positionals to your kit, meaning your ability to generate kenki without the ability to flank like in the overworld is actually functional.
My NIN isn't 70 yet, but so far it still feels fine, I don't have Ten Chi Jin yet though. The gauge feels a little tacked on, but not to level of something like the PLD gauge.

Ninja is a lot more straight forward than their 3.0 counterpart. One DoT that's attached to your slashing GCD, only a few new abilities on your way to 70, and a very forgiving rotation. If you're looking for a good, all-around Melee DPS that brings raid utility, try Ninja.

I think you answered your question in your post, too. IMO, use your daily roulettes to slowly level Samurai to 62, and see if you like how they play then.

This is why I've leveled it this far, I'm holding on to 62 and 64 abilities speeding up the class, right now it lacks a lot of oGcD abilities I can use so it feels really sluggish.

This is my main concern, do I level it first and hope these two levels make it feel good?

If feeling 'sluggish' is your concern, I'd say NIN might be the better choice. Even with the toned down 4.x rotation, NIN still feels fairly busy to me compared to SAM. More things to keep track of overall, with SAM feeling more... rhythmic is the word I'd probably use. The nature of the sen gauge makes their rotation flow in a fairly stable pattern, but the acceleration of kenki generation at 62 does help it feel faster. I would probably recommend simply pushing SAM to 62 to play with it, but I do think NIN might end up being the better option.

Or you could level both at once. There's enough quests to level 2 jobs at once if you do both story and side quests to 70.

As you already know and others have said, SAM really doesn't open up until later. But SAM is so much fun at 70. I recently came back to the game so haven't really spent much time as nin but I do plan to since they are such a benefit to the raid. Leveling my astro to 70 so I have a healer and nin will be my next to push up.

So you think I should just push Sam first and then make a choice at 62?
