You do realize how small the XI staff probably is now right? Not to mention their hands are totally tied because of PS2 limitations.LOL can't believe people are defending Tanaka, that guy is ass, he wouldn't last a day in a modern MMO company. Tanaka is great at console RPG's but he's utterly garbage in MMO development. Have you guys seen FFXI lately? he's been running it into the ground over the past 8+ months killing all momentum they built with Abyssea.
Abysea killed off easily 1/3rd the player base I can't believe people are saying that was good for XI.
Tanaka in Charge XI held almost all its playerbase for 8yrs... Tanaka leaves to create XIV and another dev steps up... XI goes into a death spiral losing subs.

This. It's from offensive to outrageous saying he didn't do an awesome work in FFXI. I didn't like FFXI's HC/party-based concepts, but it was perfectly made based on them, being for sure one of the best FFs ever made. FFXI was very directed, but still a masterpiece!

Check his/her history. His/her last history was in April. Why do you think he/she NEVER responds when I ask him why he/she judges people for disliking the game when he/she him/herself doesn't play. Move along whiteknight.
Ironic he/she can ask that one person if that adventurer thinks the fights are fun without even attempting the fights once, but someone else asking him the same question gets questioned.

I don't bother with a posters history, you asked them how they could find the fights fun or not if they didn't play.
In the context of this thread, they made no such claim so I don't see how it's even a relevant question. Wether or not a person plays the game doesn't dissalow them to ask a question to a person who hasn't experience content to judge it so. They themselves though would obviously be exempt from passing pre-mature judgement on game content they haven't tried for themselves.
Arguably a informed perspective can allow a person to judge some content without actually being there in person for it, but that's not the question at hand nor the reason you asked them a non-sense question.
A: I don't think Brocoli tastes good.
B: How can you say that you haven't eaten it.
C: HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT!
B: Say what?
C: That Brocoli tastes good!
B: I didn't say that...
C: TEH BIAS!
B: ...what?
And just because *you* think you understand why something was brought into the game doesn't mean you ACTUALLY understand why it was brought in either. I can turn that logic right back at you. darkstar has a point, sometimes the devs seem to "forget" why they're in this whole mess in the first place and make these really dumb game design decisions that make no sense. However, I'm not in total belief that it is Wada behind these direct decisions - that's not the job of a CEO. The CEO may tell you to "make content for our current player base" but I'm not sure he's going to tell you "make this content so that it requires a time sink that will force players to take a longer time to complete it".Just because you don't understand why something was brought into the game doesn't mean others do not as well. Many follow Yoshi-P because they actually enjoy what was brought into the game, others who don't enjoy it still understand why it was a good idea (or at least on paper it was) to bring a feature in.
...Come to think of it, that does sound like something a CEO could meddle in to increase the longevity of said created content...
Anyway, this is what the community is for, to keep the dev team on track and to constantly remind them Not To Do Certain Things. The Prime Fight requirement was obviously a huge screw up on their part, as you got enough people complaining (or as defenders might say, whining) about the unnecessary time sink required to even get to the content. They'll implement many great things, and will implement just as many bad things. As I've said it once, and I'll say it again, I think it's up to us to keep them in check.

Sorry to burst your bubble. But if a person ask someone "If you never did X, then how do you know it is y?" Questions tend to be from the person stating it from experience. So when Jennestia makes this claim, it means from his/her experience, it is fun! Please stop whiteknighting and move on. You, Jennestia, and the like will hopefully be gone after payment period starts. My friend says that trolls/whiteknights like you will still pay to use the forums, I hope he is wrong.
Btw, I don't care about your responses after this point. You are going to just rehash your ignorance, make me rehash quotes and explain grammar, and then you will rehash your ignorance again. Good-bye.
