Uh no. This is a harmful notion to homosexuals. Do you just announce that you're straight? We know. Do we announce that we're gay? No. You know. People making it clear about who they are is NOT the issue. It never is. In my opinion this kind of thinking is victim blaming, and hurtful.

Maybe I'm just an oblivious moron, or maybe I just don't care enough, but the only person in my static whose sexuality I know, or knows mine, is my ingame waifu. And we only know because of lots of erp with each other.

Unless the topic is blatantly sexuality, I would maintain there are no auditory clues. Unless you're being super stereotypical about the "gay accent" in which case...thats on you.

As a homosexual person, I get bullied in online games. Do I announce my sexuality? No. People hear my voice, and they get clues based on my information. There's no denying or hiding it. It's part of who I am. I honestly have no sympathy for straight males who claim to be bullied for their sexuality. It just doesn't happen. I seriously doubt anyone would actually kick you for that. It has to be something else, or not even real.

That's strange. I could have sworn that I've seen you bring it up an awful lot in public chat channels in-game. You also had 'M/M' in your search info for a while which, for those not in the know, is a common way for role-players on Balmung to advertise their character's sexuality. Unless I'm mistaken? You may want to dial back the whole 'it never happens' element, too, because discrimination can be aimed in any direction and for any reason. It's not something you get to claim exclusivity over.

I have no idea what the OP is moaning about, what seems to have happened is he's been kicked from a static full of 3rd wave intersectional feminists. I honestly cannot think of a less fun group to do..... well anything with. Discrimination is obviously disgusting but hey, they did you a favour really. I mean, I get that people kick others for stupid reasons, and no one likes to be discriminated against, but this was over discord, there is nothing for SE to take action on, and it's unlikely discord will take action either, though maybe check with them?

Okay, yeah, I know this is baity as heck but... LoL... Really? Since when did a group of people need an actual reason of any sort not to include someone in their group? It's not like an unjustified instance kick because they didn't like your character model or something. The group said, "We don't want to raid with you." And that's really it... You can't punish people just because they decided you're not someone they want to raid with. The whole concept of a "static" group is entirely meta anyway and in no way constrained to the ToS of the game.

Playing on Balmung I've found that certain portions of a certain community advertising themselves as 'tolerant' are, in fact, some of the most bigoted, discriminatory and manipulative individuals I've ever had the displeasure of encountering. I also think a lot of people don't realise that it's an issue - as evidenced by some of the responses to this thread. So if it serves to change even one person's mind then the OP did an excellent job in my opinion.

Well, invest in Balmung's community and you'll find certain portions of it most definitely discriminate based on what the OP believes to be the case. I doubt Gilgamesh is much different where such extremists are concerned.

But the OP asked if it was against the ToS to do this, which means they're looking for a way within the game's rules to punish people for this in the game. This is a social issue which extends far beyond the scope of the game and SE can't go around punishing people for their social ingraces unless they are direct harassment with clear intent to harm. This wasn't that.
