I love you for making this thread. I've asked others about melds and they were all "lol idk" and had no luck figuring that stuff out myself.

Thank you so much for this! I'm trying to learn DRG as best I can but with so much back log on the forums its hard to pares it out!

I "just" got 70 a few days back and I was extremely disappointed to realize that clicking Blood of the Dragon will kick you out of Life of the Dragon state. That is ridiculous and IMO should be changed. The click should add time to Life when used under that state, would alleviate many issues with pauses in between spawns in dungeons too, if we could click on that cooldown to extend the Life of the Dragon.
That rant aside: I have issues with SSD. It's a stun, this means it builds resistance if spammed on the target. I have trouble incorporating it as a "must always use" in rotations in fear that I may be messing things up in an encounter. Even if it was seen as a nerf, I would honestly wish SSD had it's stun removed (or just take damage away and reduce the cooldown on Jump to compensate.) Would also be nice if DFD gave us Dive Ready state. But there I go again... ranting about things I'd like to see happening.
Anyways: any advice on how to approach the stun resistance point? Other than pre-emptively knowing every single mob that may be messed up by using it?

I myself have also complained about that very same thing in another thread that I created (Post 4.0, How do you feel Dragoons?). It just doesn't feel right to have a mechanic built into a stunner oGCD. They should've removed stun from it and just left us with Leg Sweep as an optional skill like everyone else. The name of the ability alone (Spineshatter) lends itself to like a 10sec STR or DEX debuff that should apply when it is used on a mob instead. That would've been more useful at least.

Eh that would be a problem. If you started with 30s on LotD then BotD at 10s, you'd be boosted back up to 30, then at ~1s you could probably clip a fresh BotD again and get another 20s. You'd have like a full minute of LotD upkeep, then around that time you'd have 4 eyes and could GK a new LotD and start the process over again. While I would love to have fulltime upkeep of LotD, it would be pretty strong to have a 330 potency oGCD on 10s cooldown forever. The click should add time to Life when used under that state, would alleviate many issues with pauses in between spawns in dungeons too, if we could click on that cooldown to extend the Life of the Dragon.

I have not unlocked the ability yet (got to 70 a few days back but have not played DRG so not done the final quest,) so I will admit I'm a bit ignorant: once you enter LotD, it cant be extended like BotD?
If it is a temporary thing, the description says "Life of the Dragon will revert to Blood of the Dragon when duration expires." so, it sounds like as soon as LotD reaches zero, I go back to 30s of BotD? Or does it "store" the duration I had when I entered LotD?
If LotD is not meant to be extended, I still feel that clicking BotD should not take me out of it. Either BotD click becomes something else, or it should be disabled while in LotD. A finger slip should never be that counter-productive.
LOTD can't be extended, so you want to have as much time as possible on BOTD before entering life, so you get 3 Nastronds off, at least 22 seconds, 25 or more to be safe. When it ends you get 20 seconds of BOTD (was 15 prior to the patch).I have not unlocked the ability yet (got to 70 a few days back but have not played DRG so not done the final quest,) so I will admit I'm a bit ignorant: once you enter LotD, it cant be extended like BotD?

Wait so the whole point of LotD is to throw, at most, 3 Nastronds? Don't take me wrong, see the potency boost in that (+740 pot during the window per target hit?)
I guess I'm disappointed, I was expecting it to be like going Super Saiyan 2, an even more powerful form you would sustain for as long as possible. Still feel BotD click should be disabled while in LotD.

Yea, that's the problem most have. Its a long buildup for not much of an increase. You look pretty cool though when doing it so there is that.Wait so the whole point of LotD is to throw, at most, 3 Nastronds? I appreciate the time and effort put into this guide but I have to say the approach just bothers me. It's like a lower effort more casual approach than all the previous guides on these forums ("No calculations here, just trust me on this". That sort of flies in the face of why the guides existed in the first place. Before they could point to calculations done and show why one thing was actually better than another despite what it seemed like on paper. But I guess that's because a lot of the theory crafters have moved to other venues so this is what's left. I'm not saying this guide is useless but I hope that newer DRG players who use the info they get in this thread will also do their research and find other sources for information.
