    Zones become overcrowded and crash because they make lucrative open world battles like S ranks and Ixion so rare. If you had coded your game to be able to handle it, fine, but you didn't. Stop making content in such a way your own game can't handle. Either make the things spawn more often so the need to camp them or rush to kill them diminishes, or make it so people don't need to kill the bosses so many times. If the Ixion mount cost only 2 horns the "congestion" in Lochs would immediately be resolved like it has with Foxy Lady.

    Turn these instances off. Ixion camping will probably go on for months and months. Will you keep these annoying instances for all areas just because of that for such a long time?
    It is not fun doing hunts or maps with others because everybody is always in a random instance. Takes 10 times longer.

    I've a feeling that a lot of the network and server side stuff is still some legacy 1.0 code, so they didn't have to code that from the scratch while they remade the game. It's also why you can't do anything, if you have vendor or a retainer open. Can't even accept party invites with vendor open, because of reasons. I think my recent favourite is how converting to cross-server party is handled. The game just disbands the current party (while showing you disband message and sound) and then groups everyone again. Nothing against doing it like that per se, but there is no reason for the end user to see all of that.

The smarter idea would be redesigning the Ixion like FATEs so that this situation doesn't occur again.
    No. I can guarantee there will be instancing when the next expansion releases, too. They've already had two freaking years to fix the programming. There's simply no excuse.

    if (player.party != null) {
    var otherMember = player.party.members[0] == player ? player.party.members[1] : player.party.members[0];
    if (otherMember.CurrentLocation.Map == player.CurrentLocation.Map) {
    int otherMemberInstance = otherMember.CurrentLocation.Instance.ID;
    player.SetInstance(otherMemberInstance)
    }
    }

    There ya go, no excuses anymore.

    Thank you for the feedback in regards to instanced zones in the Stormblood areas.

    We understand that these field instances can make it difficult to group up when running open world content or gathering as a party, and we apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused.

    Due to the specifics of the programming, many of these requested features such as being able to choose which instance to teleport to or having the system prioritize whatever instance your party members are currently in would be very difficult to implement.

    While we are aware that this is not ideal, we ask for your patience and understanding as these field instances are tentative measures intended for congestion relief and load reduction as we try to make the game as smooth as possible for all players.
    One follow-up to this.

    Since we can ride a dual mount into a zone and each get a choice of which zone we enter, and similarly when we *walk* into a zone, we get a choice, why is it so hard to implement the same choice when joining a zone through teleport? In all 3 cases we are zoning from one zone to another, yet we can choose the instance when walking or riding in, just not when teleporting. Why is that?

    I mean, I understand that it can be difficult to retrofit things to code, but the ability to choose a specific instance already exists when transitioning from one zone to another. Why is it so hard to extend that same capability when teleporting?

    I bet it's because technically you don't cross the zone border when you teleport in, so the server just randoms you the instance because you never made a choice. Then there's something in the code related to sunspots that forces teleport and walking in to be handled differently.

    Like in WoW when u do a world quest(fates), when you join a group for it you get auto fazed with that group, no need to zone to join them

    You should at least be able to teleport to whichever instance you have party members in automatically. Also as a player, it is not my problem that they decided to poorly execute Ixion in the fashion that they did by only having him possibly pop in one zone and one zone only, unlike Odin who can pop in multiple zones in the Shroud. Behemoth had the same problems at ARR launch and yet knowing this, they still went that route but put a terrible band-aid of a solution in place with these clumsily designed instances.

    Nice attempt at White Knighting on their behalf but this is not something that should be commended and could've easily been avoided with some playtesting from actual players.

    The transfer from one zone to another is handled by the same servers regardless of the method. The coordinates in the zone you transfer to are not really part of this, it's simply the exit of a zone instance and being placed in another zone instance regardless of your mode of travel. I can't imagine why it would be so hard to implement a simple dialog asking players to choose an instance.
