That's an interesting way of handling that...
I like the games that include a drop-down menu off the minimap to select which instance you want to join.

Right, which then puts you in the same spot as you were before so no having to go anywhere to change. That is what they should do, it would be nice. Then again you should teleport to where your party is to begin with, with an option to select from the mini map or right click their name and "join instance".
Greetings,
Thank you for the feedback in regards to instanced zones in the Stormblood areas.
We understand that these field instances can make it difficult to group up when running open world content or gathering as a party, and we apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused.
Due to the specifics of the programming, many of these requested features such as being able to choose which instance to teleport to or having the system prioritize whatever instance your party members are currently in would be very difficult to implement.
While we are aware that this is not ideal, we ask for your patience and understanding as these field instances are tentative measures intended for congestion relief and load reduction as we try to make the game as smooth as possible for all players.

... Why would y'all program it in such a way that we can't do any of these things? It doesn't take a lot of foresight to think about how certain features would be fairly critical to the QoL of instanced zones.
Because it's not a feature, it's a system designed to ease the load off zones while the server population is high, something which is only occurring in loche. So yes, it is silly to ask the dev team to design a system of choosing and making sure people go to the right instance on something which only occurs because of Ixion. The smarter idea would be redesigning the Ixion like FATEs so that this situation doesn't occur again.

Zone congestion happens with the Foxy Lady fate and S ranks too, especially on the bigger servers. That doesn't solve how they reintroduced the instance feature at the exact same time as the new group open world map content though. It's a temporary fix to another issue, but one that makes it a major pain to run things as intended with your group atm.
That said, they are going to do this again when the next expansion comes out and the it would be prudent to act on the issue before then. You'd think they would have learned after heavenward but nah.
No. I can guarantee there will be instancing when the next expansion releases, too. They've already had two freaking years to fix the programming. There's simply no excuse.Because it's not a feature, it's a system designed to ease the load off zones while the server population is high, something which is only occurring in loche. They should really start working on that now then since this same exact issue will pop up again 2 years from now with the expansion.
