Are the square tomestones not older than the long ones we've been collecting since 2.0? This was at least the impression I got. Advances in data storage technology led to the High Capacity Tomestone and the Micro Tomestone, but the tomestones of verity and of creation share a form factor with the Early Model Tomestone, which suggests that the Stormblood tomestones are actually older than the ones we're used to.

Maybe truth and creation are meant to come before everything else.

In French, the new tomestones are of Cosmogony, so explicitly the Universe creation. The German translation seems to follow the English according to Google Translate while the Japanese one while it seems that in Japanese these are the tomestones of "All Things".
