And Rus had 5 usd for the standard, Most russians were aware that a price change would come, but no one expected an unannouced change of 10 usd, making the base game cheaper than the sub

LOL @ people saying we were paying less by exploiting a bug

Tetsuo is salty because his country did not got something like regional pricing. So instead of fighting for it, he is just glad we tanked? Dude... I was afected by the change and I dont wanna the EU price to match the dollar so its the same. You're barking at the wrong tree if you think everybody should be punished instead of gettin the so called better treatment.

To the other guy saying the brazilian price raised close to 50%, its almost the double actually.

Valve was the 3rd party managing the regional pricing.

No one is throwing rocks or asking for charity. People made very reasonable points so far, lets not dismiss the whole thing because some players are more upset.

One thing. SE did not break it's ToS as the price didn't change. Please stop spreading this misinformation. All that changed was bringing the steam version up to the price everyone else is paying. Basically, SE is now using the normal conversion rate as opposed to regional pricing.

That said, the problem most here have is the way SE did this. No prior warning at all and making this change right after releasing Stormblood. Also SE waited just long enough after release that they can't get a refund on the expansion. I know if this had happened to me I would be furious.

So changing regional price is not changing the price? When you use steam wallet option in mogstation no one even mentions euro, you just get redirected to steam and see you price in rubles. But everyone says it's okay because price in euro didn't change so they have no obligation to inform us about changes.

This is from a legal standpoint. I didn't say it was right.

Changing the price is if SE decided in 30 days to add 1 dollar to all sub fees.

Example of what changing a price is. The game use to cost 14.99 a month but now it's 16.99 a month. That's a price change which they would give a warning to.

Example of what's not a price change is. Steam was converting the price of Russian Rupee and the Brazilian BRL to a fee which was less than intended. aka it was 28.99 BRL which equaled to 9.22 USD. Now it's changed to 41.99 which is 13.35 USD.

What changed is the conversion rate, nothing more. SE didn't increase the price of the game, they corrected the pricing on Steam because while the Mog station had the correct price Steam didn't and the players using Rupee and BRL used that loophole to pay a cheaper sub.

How is it less than intended is they set the price themselves? They chose to implement regional price on their own, it's not like valve forced them or anything.
It's not like ruble value dropped yesterday, it was two years ago. You can't call this fixing a bug.

SE still offers regional pricing in the UK/AUS/NZ so square definitly isnt offering the same price to all players. The EU ToS was broken since the prices were stable for 3 years independent of exchange rates and now they are fluctuating daily, the change in the conversion does characterize a price change since one can look at either the currency or the sub price as the variable with the final price being the same

(X*y= z, z is a constant so x and y are dependent of each other, one cannot determinate x without y

A easier way to think is x*2.10= 33brl that was how square saw a purchase (x~= 15 usd)
    or
    10*y = 33brl and thats how costumers see a purchase (y~= 3.3 brl/usd))
