Yes they are. And that's all they'll ever be. SE is not doing charity here.
And whatever the case, appealing to emotion is an argument for nothing.
And before people start throwing rocks at me, I'm not defending SE.

Bravo. The forums that think the company and devs are their friends are misinformed. Companies react to bad PR. They don't react to you met and hugged the guys at fanfest.
The supposed game outlets can ignore a lot. But if the games fan score drops through the floor everywhere, they probably have to comment. Or risk looking like they are in collusion. Which actually has been an issue with game reviewers in the past. MMO's are an ongoing customer service interaction. You provide monthly fees and if you feel the service is poor rate it. The exit question when you finish up your sub is a joke.
Ok, I'll bite.
If square profits per each subscription sold is => 0 how are they running a charity?
You must remember that they werent opperating at loss neither with brazil 10 usd sub, uk 11 usd sub and probably with rus 5 usd sud

Yes, it's not a charity, that's why we pay for the service (a subscription fee some might say) and as such we are what people call "paying customers".
Hell, even to simply be on these forums you have to have paid at least for the base game, so I don't really get your point in saying that this is not a charity.
It has never been, it has always been customers complaining about questionable actions from a company they pay to provide them a service.
No offense was intended in this post.
me, please it's not costumers, it's customers

I'll say once again, my post was never meant to defend SE.
I'm not affected by this, and while I'm not at a position to comment on whether or not this translates into more or less money for them (BY THE WAY GUYS THIS IS WHAT ACTUALLY MOVES THEIR DECISIONS - WOW WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT), I still think that they should have warned people that it was coming with a due justification.
If you want to argue against how bad this is, you can try and convince SE that this is an overall net loss for them, even if just because of bad PR. Saying "MUH FEELINGS" leads nowhere, not only here but in any discussion you can have.
But here's some food for thought: now that this has come to to the spotlight, if they reverted the price changes, how would they then justify the rest of the world paying more than the affected people?

If you take a look there's a ton of people saying they or their friends won't be able to pay for the game anymore after this and even people saying that even though they can afford the fee they won't be renovating their sub, which I think is talking about money.
There's also something else that influences companies: Reputation. If we expose bad actions from companies that can lead to huge losses for the company in question, consumer trust is sometimes more valuable than plain money, this game is a great example of that.
(And I never thought that you were defending SE, just that you were missing the point)
thats why regional prices should be a thing in 2k17
it is not about some1 paying less it is about cost of living and wages in different countries
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post4320604i gonna just point out a few thing, first price is dependant of the taxe of the country, example in europe we have a taxe that affect the pricing of online gaming.
we had the same issue with the secret world, where because of european taxe we was paying higher than US. then check if no new taxe on your side didn't appear before think SE try to screw you.
second did you try to contact Steam for see if is SE fault before come here? or contact SE for have a bit of answer? i doubt anyone gonna come answer on this forum about pricing. the best way is to contact the support for get an explanation.

They don't need to, you don't see Blizzard explaining why their subscription is cheaper than in US, that's what regional pricing is about.
Economy is much more than the raw value of money, you can't just think "well, it's 1usd for 3 brl so it's fine (that's true for imported goods). Money is always changing, brl can be 1:1 tomorrow, who knows? But will it have a delay of years to change? That's why companies should try to establish a reasonable price.

Seeing the UK sub price compared to the US one worries me, it's definitely not about making all prices fair anymore. Maybe they should prove it by increasing the UK sub fee to £24.99/mth (to put it into perspective of what they did to the Russians). Though since the UK is a very rich country I'd say go even further and make it £500/mth. Maybe then we'd be able to get the Russian's and Brazilian's situation fixed because of how much of an uproar that would cause. But remember, no warning or anything about it. This is basically the situation I see the Russians/Brazilians in.
White Mage ~ Sage ~ AstrologianBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
That would be a pretty great way to erode away any sympathy UK players have for those affected. Especially since we've already been screwed over in the past by the way in which promotion campaigns have been handled.Seeing the UK sub price compared to the US one worries me, it's definitely not about making all prices fair anymore.
