Steam payment HUGE price increase!

Oh my God ppl, come on!

We don't care about life style, currency and everything else that is being compared!

We used to pay X for the subscription and now we pay 1.5X or even 3X

All we want to know is why, and i think as customers we have the right to know

If you didn't get penalized by the increase, just ignore the post and keep playing as usual

All I'm tired of, or expose prices as before, or you go far away with your game ..... specially extended time to do anything, with stupid players in dungeons, the game is not in my language ...... . Too many minuses to play it, if you look at the point of the grain of money, then for this game I will not pay, this will be said by 50% of the players exactly .....
Remove the game is easier than you will be contacted, you were wasted time and money .... not all this time I enjoy the game, because the pocket is not badly struck
Do not return everything as it was, you can say goodbye ..... there are other projects that cost my money

First, I would like to thank you all for your patience while I got information that could be provided to you. I understand this is an important concern for many of you, and had hoped I would be able to get back to you yesterday, so you would not have to go so long without an update. I would also like to thank you for keeping the thread civil and informative for each other. While there are certainly different perspectives, your tone with each other has been respectful, which allows this discussion to continue.

As you have pointed out, we recently made adjustments to how prices in Brazilian Real and Russian Rubles are calculated for Steam users. These changes were made to bring prices using these currencies in-line with the global pricing structure based on current exchange rates. In addition, these adjustments mean that prices now accurately reflect the pricing provided on our other official channels and currencies.

Thank you again for your understanding and patience while I worked to get this information for you. If people are finding additional pricing discrepancies outside of what was mentioned, please let me know, so they can be looked into.

And what made you guys decide it wasn't a good idea to warn us before hand? Now the feeling we get is that you didn't warn us on purpose so we could buy your expansion and then feel like we have an obligation to play now that we bought it. Jesus, I don't even want to believe you guys really did this. I really like the game, but knowing that this is how much you care about us just entirely kills it for me.

The conversion rates aren't actually as simple as Brazillians use 3.12 reals the same way US uses $1 USD. 47R$ for us may be around 15$ for you guys, which may be around 1% of your minimum wage, but for us, still 47 bucks which would be 5% of our minimum wage, and if we add up a VPN that its most likely mandatory to use, cuz there is no South America servers like WoW has (specially now with the servers moving to west coast, making thousands of people to have high latency), we will be spending almost 10% of our minimum wage. Monthly.
That goes for Brazil, idk about how the other countries are dealing with this, but i do believe that alot of people will just quit cuz of this.

And still, support says that those regions were paying lesser prices.

I think that SE should understand that they made deal with a plataform like Steam which always make the prices so that people from a specific region can afford buying, instead of paying the real price doing a stupid money conversion, or else AAA games would cost 300+ in brazil.

Not only that, but look at other games that have subscription models (World of Warcraft) or that rely heavily on microtransactions (Warframe): they actually changed their prices across regions to try to adequate it to the playerbase's economical situation. For example, a WoW sub costs 15USD (same as FFXIV, which converts to over 50BRL after taxes), but the official sub price in Brazil is 23,90 BRL , and that's AFTER a price update (it used to be even lower, at 14,90BRL). Warframe also practices much lower prices for their microtransactions, with their 5USD tier costing 10BRL rather than over 17BRL.

Basically Square Enix is walking backwards in regards to their global pricing policies. Even worse, they're doing worse than ACTIVISION in that regard.

Exactly. We're able to buy many games with the price we'll be spending with a game that doesn't mind its playerbase and changes prices without previous warnings. Doesn't sounds great.
And it happened right after i bought a renaming service; Guess i'll be asking for a refund, as i won't be able to play the game anymore anyway.

Yeah you should've told us before launching the expansion, so we wouldn't have spent our money buying it! Dirty work you did...
My husband and I are leaving the game as soon as our 26 days of previous subscription end. Thanks for this.
