This is kind of a silly or noob post, but how does FFlogs work?
I have cleared Emanation EX (like 3 or 4 days ago) and seen that the level 70 dungeons are there and yet nothing shows up for me. I am on PS4 so have no parsers but with so many always talking about the site figured it could be of some use.

Basically someone in your group has to be running the application that records stuff for FFLogs (ACT maybe?) and actually upload it to the website when the run is done. Even if some groups parse, they may not necessarily upload, so you might not have any data on the site for that reason.

Give the site a scroll through. imo it's a bit jumbled to navigate but it's full of relevant info. It's useful to see what other players are doing what and when, and should you want to, adapt it to your playstyle to try new things. If you pick the right settings you can see every action as it's used in a fight, for every party member. I play on PS4 too btw and I'm dying for an in-game parser to increase my learning speed for relevant content... Pipedreams.

As a follow-up, parsing is technically against ToS? And some people are actively against it, and report people who talk about parsing. I would exercise caution talking about it in game, even if you don't participate.

An in game parser, even if it's just personal, would be nice.

From what I've heard(can't guarantee the accuracy of this since it's second/third hand), SE doesn't really care if people parse on the condition they don't discriminate because of it.

Technically it's against the ToS as it's using third party software. However it's pretty much tolerated as long as you don't give people a hard time over their numbers. That's why most people who parse do it for themselves and will not tell others their numbers, unless you ask them for it.

It's not "technically", it IS. Yoshi-P is aware of these things, but SE ultimately is the one holding the purse-strings and the one responsible with setting the Terms of Service. Such third party sites provide all the evidence needed to ban people if they are reported.

Take a look at this. They're not going to ban you for parsers or other third party programs (like ReShade or whatever) as long as you use them responsibly. For parsers that means don't harass people. Yes, formally the answer is "no third party programs allowed" but as the video shows, they don't mind turning a blind eye to certain things.

To the original question, FFLogs only records what people upload. People aren't so likely to upload parses if they don't look good in them.

I made a thread asking for an in game parser a short while ago, a year after making one in a poor format, in order to gatherer clearer results. lll give you 10 gil if you can find that thread. It had over 180 votes. Short answer: Even discussing getting sanctioned/native parser can have your topic and yourself removed for "intentionally having a negative impact on the community."
