I'm not making excuses for them, I want more customization as well, and I notice all this stuff as well. I'd like to be able to make a better and more unique looking character. But you gotta understand the other side of matters as well, that's the basic when thinking about things. I stated your request was reasonable, but you gotta understand why it isn't happening anytime soon. I'm not saying you shouldn't request stuff, just don't blame them if they don't implement it for a comprehensible reason from their standpoint.
