Version Check Error / Launcher/Boot/Update Error

I finally have managed to get through. Nothing changed about the methods, just trying again and again and restarting two more times. After the second restart it just managed to go through and not hang on me and give me the error. I wish I could give a better solution because I tried everything, including the google DNS just before this yet again (which didnt work, just like the others) but yeah.

After hearing how this game is actually decent,started a free trial played a short while closed it for maybe 16 hrs and now im getting version check error,,anyone know what is causing the issue. I dont think ive ever seen a failed launcher so quickly, is this a common issue ? Do they update the launcher frequently. Im going to try some of the fixes mentioned, in my case im not invested yet, certainly not the best way to bring in a new subscription.

If that doesn't work (which it didn't for me) change your DNS.



I followed this guys post, and changed to SAFEDNS and it fixed the issue for me on PC.

This worked for me, sort of. I changed the DNS and it started the update then died, again. I reverted the changes back to auto then it updated. Overall, with a little fiddling it worried.

thx alot OP this worked out great for me...flipped the switch for it to turn on the checker by setting it to 1 and saving. it downloaded a patch of 18mb for the launcher itself and then it rebooted and started to download the hotfix patch after login, and no errors

Hi guys.
Changing the config to 1 and also using Googles DNS didnt help.
Also running as admin didn't help.

Changing my DNS to 4.2.2.1 worked for me.

But geez, I really shouldn't have to do things like that. And its very very poor that SE are not commenting on any of these threads after a whole day.
