Still did not work. I went an extra step and removed the files in " downloads >> ffxivpatch". Only then did I actually get a progression bar for downloading the patch, and encountered the same error yet again.

This is incredibly infuriating.. My other half can't even get online no matter what he tries. SE fix your shit. And before you say 'do x' he's literally tried everything on reddit and here.. Nothing works. :/
Is he getting a 90k after selecting a character a second after the load screen shows? Thats whats happening to me and I've tried everything. Reinstalling now, so if this doesn't fix it I'm completely out of ideas having tried every other "fix" in these forums already.

He can't even get the patch to DOWNLOAD.. It just gives him the error. Swapping the DNS. Ports. Everything he's done the lot and he just can't get in. He's adjusted the boot... Everything. Just the same thing over and over and over again. Won't even let him start the download.
thx alot OPthis worked out great for me...flipped the switch for it to turn on the checker by setting it to 1 and saving. it downloaded a patch of 18mb for the launcher itself and then it rebooted and started to download the hotfix patch after login, and no errors

My partner is having launcher issues, error 1103 cant update. We have tried changing the DNS settings which didnt work. Disabled firewall which didnt work, adjusted the boot.cfg, this didnt work, did all the rebooting stuff....nothing works apart from running as administrator but as soon as he closes it and reloads the game he gets the same error...not sure what is happening.

I was able to get everything to work by doing the following:
1) Open FFXIV_BOOT.cfg in notepad.
2) Change BootVersionCheckMode to 1
3) Save and close the file.
4) Delete all the previous patch data under /downloads/ffxivpatch
5) Start the game and it should work.
Hopefully this helps!!

Unfortunately going through the same situation as Belgamins partner. Changed DNS (tried all of the ones in the link above), saved the damned notepad oh so many times and nothing. The only thing left is to reinstall the game which I'm REALLY reluctant to do so - I haven't seen anyone say it worked when simply reinstalled..

I actually have a question are you by any chance based in europe? My boyfriend has been experiencing a terrible amount of trouble and has to run on a VPN due to their agressive DDOS broad huge bans they're doing.. He's concerned that its an after effect of them blanketing certain areas of europe with just a straight out blanket ban.. So he was able to fix his constant 90K's .. But now? Now its the goddamn patch he can't even get in.. No matter what he's done. Short of a miracle I don't think its going to work either. Still hovering around for more possible solutions. Good luck to you :cUnfortunately going through the same situation as Belgamins partner. Changed DNS (tried all of the ones in the link above), saved the damned notepad oh so many times and nothing.
