This didn't work for me. But this...found solution for me.
the forum doesnt let me to quote the post so i just copy it here:
"Thanks for this info I was able to fix it with this by forcing the launcher to update by doing the following.
go to Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\ open up FFXIV_BOOT.cfg in word pad or notepad.
you should see this
<FINAL FANTASY XIV Boot Config File>
<Version>
Version 2
Language 1
Region 2
EulaAgreement 1
StartupCompleted 1
B4EulaAgreement 1
BootVersionCheckMode 0
ConfigReset 0
the line in bold is the key change the 0 to a 1 and it forces it to check version upon opening the launcher.
After doing this it updated launcher and the game fine."

This worked for me on PC, but I didn't try on PS4. I was actually having the same issue on both platforms.
A Square-Enix launch, that doesn't work, well there's a shocker.
Nah, in all seriousness getting this error too, sick of dealing with your shit breaking, lagging and being over congested, sort it out, my patience with you as a company is already spent.
It worked for me! Thank youfound solution for me.

For those it didnt work, you have to do it with your launcher closed. Otherwise the changes wont stick.
You can't close the laucher when made the change. If you close the laucher, it's will reset the settings...
Try to open the laucher, change the file "FFXIV_BOOT.cfg", save the changes and try to login...
The error will appers but its will update your game and then you will login normaly![]()
