Sacred Soil is a waste of aether stacks compared to the other skills that fight for that spot in our arsenal. I've almost never seen it be useful in 4.0 content in spite of liberal testing as the other abilities are simply far better, especially with our nerfed status from before. Now that aetherflow has been buffed it might be actually viable again, but prior to this patch it might as well have not belonged on your hotbar at all. Also the 'you have a faerie' thing is kind of silly given the fact that they nerfed their base potencies to account for Fey Union which is pretty useless given the draw backs and that even then without it our potencies are garbage. Without the faerie, SCH's have almost no potency at all and that's how it's always been balanced. Plus anyone whose actually played the class can tell you stories upon stories of their horrible AI, particularly for Eos who seems to only respond when she pleases or five seconds too late.

Also people have done the math, Noct stance was far /FAR/ better than SCH in every way shape and form. It still is, except that now Sacred Soil is somewhat usable. However that didn't change the fact that if an AST decided to stay in Noct stance this expansion, you literally could not tell them to switch because they did your one gimmick better than you could hope for. (That instant cast, CHEAPER, and higher potency benefic being the chief reason.)
