Gold Sellers

I'm on the japan realm hades, I didn't exactly know how to register this complaint. So basically a character named Willelm Beak shouting in La Noscea is trying to advertise spamming for gold sales and its flooding the chat constantly. The site he is spamming is mmoaa.com. This kind of thing drives me nuts. Plus the spamming is really annoying.

You can report them through the in-game support option (all the way to the right after hitting start during gameplay) under "cheating".

This is good and all but nothing seems to happen when you do, wondering if SE even cares sometimes. I reported twice now in the past week the same character in the same spot, obvious bot farming but yet nothing has happened yet.

If on Ultros server look in North Shroud outside Alder Springs where the Banemite's are. Junt Kut is the characters name, spins around in circles in one spot, until a monster comes close enough for him to shoot on his archer. After the monster dies he spins around in a circle again, rinse repeat. Been at this all week. Sure not yelling RMT but obviously going against ToS... unless SE thinks botting is allowed without telling anyone.... just saying would be nice if they actually did things in a more timely manner. If they don't have enough staff then they should get some volunteer GM's (monitored so they don't abuse their powers) to jail these accounts until a normal GM can pursue the matter further.

TLDR - SE need to speed things up and ban quicker

You can report them ingame, however, if you have suggestions on how to help stop them, they will just get you to post on this forum.

Here are some ways to stop the RMT from posting ingame on the chat menu. Block any text that has a ".com", ". com", "website", "com", "$", and so on with in each string. Just look at what has expired from the rmt postings to get even more ways to block it.

That's not ideal. What if someone was posting a link to these forums discussing how to block spam? Their post would be blocked lol. How ironic.

The RMT spammers are able to easily get around any filters that are added. No matter how many filters you add, they will find ways around them. They can replace .com with "dot com" and just not use a dollar sign.

I don't know if they put filters in to limit who can yell/shout in zones but I see a lot less spam than when I last played last year. And the /busy option almost makes it feel as though the sellers aren't in the game.

I haven't read the thread but I'm sure it's been mentioned many times: a way to right-click and simultaneously report and block a character would be very nice to have.

And if any of you have bought gold you really shouldn't bother complaining in this thread as you are part of the problem...

This has been a problem for years and nothing new has been done. The only solution at this point is for players to quit subbing in mass and cite RMT as why. When the amount of profit SE loses from players quitting exceeds the profit made by gilsellers buying accounts they will finally care enough to take real action.

RMT spam and their presence in general, plus their monopoly of some areas of the auction house, was the sole reason I stopped playing FFXI. I absolutely loved that game, but RMT ruined it for me. I'm hoping the same thing doesn't happen here.

There are no goldsellers in their game, and I haven't seen any bots either. It was so refreshing after playing Aion (which is also filled with bots and goldspammers).
Now... entering a full bot and goldspamming game again this discourages me.

So yeah... Square, I have no idea how Enmasse prevents the goldspammers and bots from Tera but please look into it and inplant this system or whatever in FF.

This problem is growing. There is no anti spam put in place on the chat so gil sellers just spam in all capital cities! If I want to have a conversation with someone in those cities I must blacklist these sellers first. Everyone may say .. ohh just blacklist them and then report them, well this is not just every 20 minutes or 1 time an hour. Your are suggesting that on my hard earned time off, to be in game playing a game I want to play and I should work to keep these gold sellers out of my chat. This is absurd. Chat needs to be fixed! This is not the first mmo that has gold sellers, take from them and fix this problem! ~Make it easy to report and block, make it harder to spam, make certain chat level restricted. This is by far the most non evolved chat system I have ever seen. I think my 19 month old could write the code that made ffxiv chat system.

This is really my only problem with this game but its a big problem, also, think of the ps3 players, they really have to work to blacklist these players, and if they don't have a keyboard and then type something in that gets pushed out by gold spam this is just so absurd its unbelievable.

Please fix the chat and ability to block and report.

Level restriction on shouts is a great idea!!! how about a timer on how often you can shout?
