Step 1: Go to wards look at what sells.
Step 2: Look if you have a level that can get it..
    Step 3: ???
    Step 4: PROFIT!

People will usually give generic answers with questions how do I make money.

If everyone does 1 thing the markets become flooded and the profits plummet, so people usually will not give exact things to do.

To really make money as others said look at the market, look at endgame gear see what makes it. Then see if you can farm/gather it. For low levels leather working stuff is a goldmine. Honestly anything that does not drop in Uldah's regions tends to sell decently.

Do leves. Do quests. Do storyline. Sell junk in wards. NPC what isn't sold often.

Experiment for yourself while waiting for a good answer.

Edit: you're 50 and still asking this question?

    1. Get two friend that have different GC from you.
    2. Ask them this week's supply and provisioning item.
    3. You get a list of things of most wanted items this week.
    4. Repeat next week.

What is considered a lot of gil now? I mean I know hundreds of millions make you a 1%er but what amount just makes you rich?

I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!

Sell shards in the wards if you don't craft.

I gave a friend a few good pieces of materia-making gear and he got 700k worth from an hour of party. He had only 10k to his his name before that. I think 50+mil is doing well. I think if someone has 10mil and very good gear that is admirable as well.

It's all relative. I have close to the top gil in my LS and all my gear is double-socketed or good tier 4, but I still see some people and O.o at the shit they get. Like 3-4-socketed insanity, that just blows my mind. Most people don't invest in weapons as they are hoping for a good ifrit/moogle weapon.

Not to mention, all of this gear people are making is being outdated by every patch they release. I have mixed feeling about AF gear too. On one hand it needs to be good, on the other my gear if I sold it would be worth a LOT. If AF is better than my gear now it is a hundred mil wasted.

So OP: sell materia, or double socket gear and sell it.

In FFXIV your level has nothing to do with how good/knowledgable of a player you are.

To answer the OP's question the best way to make gil is (Forum decided to eat my long post I made so I'll sum it up)

If your not willing to gather/craft, find out what materials you can farm that are used to make expensive items (Arrows, and such are a good consumable market) Unfortunatly the best gil/time markets will always be in consumable items and materials something DoW/DoM classes don't really thrive at doing.

Your best friend is "Research" keep an eye on whats popular in the game and provide those items for a fair price and you will always find gil in your pockets. Try to jump on "Fads" before others do, buy up items you know will probably fetch a pretty penny next patch (IE: Ifirit is next patch...maybe stock up on Fire resist stuff)

Best thing DoW/DoM can do is grind materia, for a small investment and some research on the conversion charts you can make a good dime selling materia in the wards.
