Just finished the Road to 60

Hello. I'm a new player who took advantage of the Road to 60 buff to get to get see the story of ARR and Heavensward on the way to Stormblood for the first time (I had a character some time ago but only made it to level 40 before quitting). I've pretty much only focused on the MSQ the whole time, since I was interested in the story and wanted to get to Stormblood, but now I'm wondering if there's anything I should go back and take a look at.

I think there are certain quests you have to do to unlock things that might be worthwhile? I really don't know, but I'd appreciate any advice if there is anything like that.

I also only spent a few minutes as a fisherman, but I'd like to start looking at professions. Are there any recommended profs for a newbie with no money? Thanks

https://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/G...Locked_Content that will be useful to see what unlocks things on the path to 60.

As far as professions go, you don't need a lot of money to start any of them. I would highly recommend doing them all evenly actually, as you can share gear between them, and it allows you to gather or craft any material you need for a recipe. Plus you'll want many of the cross-class actions.

You can do things in whatever order you enjoy. Continuing the main quest is certainly a valid option. Quests that unlock a feature are marked with a special icon (blue with a plus).

Thanks for the input. I'll definitely keep doing the story quests, but I made a promise to all those blue plus quests I ignored on my way that I'd at least figure out if they're worth going back for.

Im of the mindset to unlock now, figure out if its worth doing later. But thats just me. The most important unlock is the glamour system(true endgame). For other unlocks to consider... the Coils tell a great story and wrap up the end of ARR better then ultimate weapon ever did. The Hildy sidequest series is loads of fun, and features a few trials and rewards that cant be obtained any other way(plus its funny - a plus for a sidequest)... its also required to do the Scholasticate quest series in Ishgard, which tells an interesting story as well(though not a funny one). Khloe and her Wondrous Tails gives rewards(some fun, some useful) to rerunning older and newer content you might not always be doing. Some of the extreme primal fights are fun, and they make it easier to work with Khloe plus some of them have sparkly weapon rewards too. The 24 man raids(both crystal tower at level 50 and shadows of mhach at 60) are interesting to run and have some unique outfits. There are many optional dungeons, and it can be nice to have more options to run when leveling up. Unlocking the hunt and clan hunt features gives you more to do in the overworld. You might enjoy the story or fights of the Alex raids(personally i preferred coils, but i dont represent everyone). The beast tribes are required content if you want all the mounts and minis(along with some other good rewards too). You could try your hand at treasure hunting, maybe youll find something amazing.

Im sure im forgetting a few other good ones, but thats a start.
