
It's true that it's a personal loss, but I think most people are referring to the fact that it's either raid wide DPS increase, or that the DRK will need to use it for multiple hard hitting mechanics per minute, whereas it doesn't need to be tuned like that at all.

Fusilier (TANK) Purely physical; Weapon: Heavy Cannon
Necromancer (DPS) Melee pet job that builds up heavy magic attacks; Weapon: Scythe; Pet: Skeleton/Undead
Ranger (DPS) Ranged heavy DPS with minor utility; Weapon: Rifle

There's also that "must use it" feeling because your other CDs are on well, cooldown. There's no inbetween mitigation so you (imo) feel pretty obligated to use it every time it's up (which isn't feasible in a lot of encounters)
