    Back before 4.0 they said they wanted the breathe new life into the tanks and healers—which was supposed to make people want to try the tanks—but botched that up from the get-go. Most jobs that were essentially perfect for 3.X were neutered or ground into the dust because of the ridiculous Cross Role system and their over-zealous pruning.

    I wholly agree with you that most people who don't tank don't complain about the difficulty of the rotation, they just don't want to lead. Tanking is perceived as a stressful job by most, there are just those who don't and won't tank simply because a tank is at the forefront. That will never change no matter how much they dumb down the jobs, no matter what changes they implement to make them easier. All it does it piss off those of us who are already tanks, yet they seem to not understand any player motivations, and consistently ignore us when we give feedback of any kind.

    DRK Needs is a useless OGCD fixed. And, Dark Passenger sets unchanged. As it sets now you have blow half your Mp Pool for a jaw dropping 240 potency cone attack plus a counter intuitive blind.

    Soul Survivor is useless unless there are adds to kill. I confess That I thought A change here was possible.

    Carve and Spit. Anyone ever look at the mp gained by a non Dark Arts C&S? It's 1200mp. That's not enough MP to activate Grit. Wouldn't it be reasonable for it to give you back enough mp to use DA or turn on Grit? I know. Why would you ever not DA C&S but still, non-Dark Arts C&S is worthless even on aoe pulls.

    How about a Raid wide utility? PLD has a few, WAR has a nice one...DRK has TBK. Please compare. I was sure, just sure, what we would see here was Dark Mind being turned into a Party wide skill.

    These are the simple things I thought DRK needed to be at least reasonably close to the other tanks. (again not a wishlist)

    I thought one change to help with DPS may be Delirium recast timer...well I called one, not that it helps anywhere nearly enough to make up the deficit.

    Mitigation wise I think DRK is okay, it's arguably the worst Tank but again, can it complete the content? if so that puts mitigation in the good enough category.

    But looking at the patch notes I felt sick not because they didn't address or fix...anything really, it was that they have read the feedback, heard the out cry and disregarded it. And, in a insulting attempt to placate Dark Knight players they give a tiny DPS increase and laughable quality of life change.

    I don't know what to do about this. I don't know where to turn...and I hate to say it but if 4.2 brought no change at all I'd have felt better. Now...I think I may vote with my wallet.

    I think if we want to see some genuinely positive changes, then we as a community will need to focus our feedback and agree on a single list of changes we'd like to see. At the moment there's too much noise with everyone posting their wish lists.

    With that said I think most of our issues stem from the introduction of role actions. Giving reprisal/low blow back to DRK exclusively would bring back some identity to the class as a starting point.

    I appreciate this Ash, but I don't think identity is really what's necessary at this point. If DRK is the middle-job between WAR and PLD, I'm fine with that.

    I don't necessarily agree that we need a "single list of changes" -- I think the real intent here is that there's a tons of different ways to approach this problem and trying even one of them would be better for us than what's been introduced in the preliminary notes.

    We can play witch hunt all we want on "what the dev team wants vs what the community wants" yet everyone but the dev team are all fully aware that those who play tanks now are the same people who will play tanks tomorrow.
